Could you use some motivation to head out to Ohio this week? Look no further than the mighty MGK Day happening this week with an all-out five-day rollout loaded with fun, food and ample baseball.

Machine Gun Kelly is turning up for MGK Day this Friday

It all starts up Friday, August 9 but rest assured the fun doesn’t even end when the weekend wraps up. The Ohio native Machine Gun Kelly’s making sure the fireworks keep going all the way to MGK Day from the Cleveland Guardians Stadium.

This year, the city of Cleveland will watch its hometown hero and multi-platinum recording artist, mgk, curate MGK Day. In recognition of mgk’s impact, the annual charity event serves as a celebration of unity, compassion, and community spirit. From Aug. 9 - Aug. 13, fans will savor everything Cleveland-bred, as the weekend-long activation will have food, music, and vendors leading to MGK Day on Aug. 13, where the revered legend will be throwing the first pitch at Progressive Field when the Cleveland Guardians host the Chicago Cubs.

A special treat awaits the first 10,000 fans who enter Progressive Field—a custom bag of 27 Club Coffee, exclusively available for early attendees. This past Friday, mgk surprised the crowd at Progressive Field by appearing on-field during the Cleveland Guardians post-game fireworks show.

Two years ago, mgk delivered a sold-out concert for 50,000 fans at FirstEnergy Stadium, making him the first and only Ohio native to sell out the stadium. This historic event happened after Mayor Justin Bibb officially proclaimed August 13th "Machine Gun Kelly Day."

mgk recently released "Lonely Road" with Jelly Road, which debuted in the top 40 on the Hot 100. "Lonely Road" showcases who mgk is in today's music landscape: a multi-faceted musician who pivots between genres through live instrumentation. mgk's catalog will be highlighted throughout the weekend, as well as his famed album Hotel Diablo, celebrating its fifth-year anniversary.

Machine Gun Kelly has his very own MGK Day

Kelly’s accomplishment comes as he sold out an entire Cleveland stadium. MGK took the stage with Justin Bibb giving him the massive salute as a hometown hero.

Global superstar Machine Gun Kelly (Bad Boy/Interscope Records) took over the city of Cleveland for a variety of events to celebrate the musician’s monumental homecoming. Justin Bibb, the Mayor of Cleveland, presented Machine Gun Kelly with an official proclamation declaring August 13 as MGK Day. Surrounded by friends, family and fans, the bonafide rockstar was all smiles during the celebration at his local 27 Club Coffee shop. Additionally, Cleveland turned the whole city pink by lighting up several city landmarks: the FirstEnergy Stadium (Cleveland Browns), the Progressive Field (MLB Guardians) scoreboard, Terminal Tower, Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, and lastly, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Machine Gun Kelly capped off the historic weekend with an action-packed, high-energy performance at FirstEnergy Stadium, where he became the first Cleveland native to sell out the 50,000-seat venue.

It really is a celebration for Kelly these days. The concert had tons of superstars pulling through and he’s remained committed to proving it’s deeper than the music with him in 2022.

To help wrap the North American leg of his 43-city Mainstream Sellout Tour, he recruited special guests 44phantom, WILLOW, Avril Lavigne, and fellow hometown friend Trippie Redd. Machine Gun Kelly brought out friend and long-time collaborator Travis Barker to perform “bloody valentine,” “kiss kiss,” and a special rendition of Blink-182’s hit “All The Small Things.WILLOW returned to the stage for their hit single “emo girl,” while Avril Lavigne joined for their collaboration “Bois Lie”. The Ohio superstar showed love and dedication to his city as he performed a special intro to his 2015 Cleveland anthem, “Till I Die” before pulling off a breathtaking, daredevil stunt by zip-lining to the stage.

The Cleveland Youth Orchestra also made a special appearance as they joined Machine Gun Kelly on stage for a raw and emotionally stirring performance of “lonely, a song dedicated to his late father and aunt. Closing out the show with fireworks, an emotional MGK fell to his knees, expressing his deep love and gratitude to fans and mouthing “thank you” for their constant love and support.

Before the show, tens of thousands of fans attended the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’sMGK Day, a celebration featuring live music and activities for the entire family. The festivities included a rare exhibition of Machine Gun Kelly’s wardrobe and instruments, including his Tickets To My Downfall tour outfit and Schecter PT Model electric guitar that he loaned to the Museum. Machine Gun Kelly joins Taylor Swift as the only artists ever have an official pre-show tailgate event hosted by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Throughout his North American tour, Machine Gun Kelly partnered with 12 charity organizations, such as Firehouse Community Center, HOB Music Forward Foundation, Kid Row and many more, providing them with tickets to bring their young students and musicians for a unique concert experience. A full list of charities included can be found HERE.

The last leg of the Mainstream Sellout Tour begins overseas on September 17 at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. Machine Gun Kelly will play 15 dates in Europe, including a headlining slot at Lollapalooza Berlin and his first show at Wembley Arena in London. Machine Gun Kelly’s new ‘more than life’ drops Friday

MGK’s penciled in June 10 to give the world his tune. It’s also in celebration of his mainstream sellout album heading toward releasing June 24 on vinyl.

Fresh off his latest No. 1 album, Machine Gun Kelly announces the release of his new song, “more than life,” coming Friday, June 10 via Bad Boy/Interscope Records. The crunching track features rising pop prodigy glaive and exhibits MGK’s gift for relaying passionate pain as he weighs his fears of vulnerability with the acceptance of newfound love in the lyrics. The blistering new track will appear as the one new song on the vinyl edition of MGK’s No. 1 album mainstream sellout, which will arrive June 24. Pre-save “more than life” HERE.

MGK’s packing his bags and hitting the road

Kelly is doing the opposite of staying indoors this summer. He’s gearing up to hit the road for a cross-country tour through late summer.

The U.S. trek spans 41 dates from June through August and includes MGK’s headlining slot at the 2022 Lollapalooza festival. After that summer stint, he’ll head to Europe for 15 stops in September and October. Machine Gun Kelly’s been doing this a long time

No rookie to the game, MGK’s remained on the grind for the past few years. But this past year showcased his massive success with mainstream sellout doing insane numbers.

Upon its release in March, mainstream sellout became MGK’s second consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, the first rock No. 1 since AC/DC in 2020 and started with the biggest debut week for a rock album since Paul McCartney over a year earlier. The album, which NME declared “will continue to speak to the millions who see Machine Gun Kelly as the saviour of punk rock,” also topped music charts around the world, including in the U.K. and Australia. Mainstream sellout contained several Billboard Hot 100 hits with artists like WILLOW (“emo girl”), Lil Wayne (“ay!”), blackbear (“make up sex”) and ”Bring Me the Horizon (“maybe”). The album also includes “twin flame,” the emotional track that MGK performed and dedicated to his family at the Billboard Music Awards in May in one of the night’s standout moments. mainstream sellout is available HERE.

Beyond the music wins, fans can also catch MGK in his new stoner comedy film, Good Mourning, available on-demand and in select theatres. The film, which NME praised as “providing sheer, silly entertainment, filling the comedy void left by the likes of Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill perfectly,” features appearances from a sea of stars, including Megan Fox, Becky G, Dove Cameron, Zach Villa, Boo Johnson, Pete Davidson and Whitney Cummings.
