DJ Khaled’s new album is the top-selling LP right now
It’s really a celebration for Khaled with his guest features-heavy compilation album bodying the competition. With over 10 albums to his name, the latest puts him in rare company with a slew of accomplishments.
Delivering one of the biggest debuts of the year, global mega-star DJ Khaled bows at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 with his thirteenth full-length studio album, GOD DID [We The Best Music Group/Epic Records]. It stands out as his fourth career #1 debut on the Top 200 and fifth straight #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
The album has arrived as a cultural milestone in its own right. Stretching past the eight-minute mark, the title track “GOD DID” [feat. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, JAY-Z, John Legend, & Fridayy] has sparked an important conversation. As part of a special report for MSNBC, Ari Melber host of The Beat broke down JAY-Z’s four-minute verse as a cogent and cohesive analysis on the failures of the prolonged generational drug war framed through the icon’s own journey embodied in the rhyme, "cocaína into champagne." However, it didn’t stop there. Khaled, JAY-Z, Melber, and journalist Rob Markmanengaged in this discourse publicly on Twitter Spaces. JAY-Z went one step further and uploaded Melber’s initial report as “HOV DID” on all streaming platforms. Rolling Stone and People have chronicled this chain of events, and the conversation continues. However, it all started on “GOD DID.”
Even the gospel charts are loving Khaled right now. His ‘Use This Gospel’ remix has skyrocketed to the top.
Meanwhile, “Use This Gospel (Remix) [feat. Kanye West, Emimen (prod. by Dr. Dre & The ICU)] bowed at #1 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart and Hot Christian Songs Chart—Khaled’s first #1 entries on the respective charts. Additionally, he notched 10 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including“God Did” at #17, “Staying Alive” at #21 (Greatest Gainer/Streaming), “Beautiful” at #29, “Big Time”at #31, “Use This Gospel (Remix)”at #49, “Juice WRLD Did” at #55, “Keep Going” at #57 “Party” at #66, “It Ain’t Safe” at #77 “No Secret” at #78 and “Let’s Pray” at #86.
Beyond posting up over 100 million cumulative streams and views, GOD DID finds Khaled everywhere. GQ spoke to him as part of an in-depth profile and proclaimed, “Sixteen years after his star-studded debut, 2006’s Listennn... the Album, many of its same guests showed up for God Did, and getting these now-giants to answer the call today is even more of an impressive feat.” Meanwhile, Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller of Rap Radar chatted with him for an all-encompassing podcast. Plus, he took the stage at the MTV VMA to present the award for “Best Collaboration” to Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow for “Industry Baby.”
He celebrated the rollout with an unprecedented deluge of videos, including, “Big Time” [feat. Future & Lil Baby], “It Ain’t Safe” [feat. Nardo Wick & Kodak Black], “Party All The Time” [feat. Quavo & Takeoff], “These Streets Know My Name” [feat. Skillibeng, Buju Banton, Capleton, Bounty Killer, & Sizzla], “Keep Going” [feat. Lil Durk, 21 Savage, & Roddy Ricch], “Beautiful” [feat. SZA & Future], “Way Past Luck” [feat. 21 Savage], and “Jadakiss Interlude” [feat. Jadakiss].

Young Thug and Gunna arrested in massive case
This week, Young Thug and longtime peer Gunna made headlines for the wrong reasons as reports claimed the two Atlanta heavyweights found themselves in handcuffs in relation to a gang activity and racketeering case.
While details were still coming together, the fact was both Thugger and Wunna were dealing with a serious legal bout. Criminal activity connected to Thug’s Young Slime Life affiliation is allegedly the cause of the drama.
Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna have both been named as part of a sprawling indictment in Fulton County, Atlanta, alleging criminal activities in and their affiliation with the gang Young Slime Life, according to indictments obtained by Variety. The news was first reported by journalist Michael Seiden at metro Atlanta news network WSB-TV.
Young Thug has already been arrested on charges of gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). His mugshot was released to the media. Gunna has also been charged with one count of conspiracy to violate RICO, but has not been taken into custody at this time. (Variety)

Rick Ross comes through with 21 Savage + Jazmine Sullivan
The must-hear record features Yung Renzel bawwwsing up with the fellow Southern rap heavyweight and the R&B veteran.
It bulldozes the way for the four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum rap icon and Maybach Music Group mastermind to release his anxiously awaited eleventh full-length album, Richer Than I Ever Been [Maybach Music Group/Epic Records], on December 10. “Outlawz” busts the down the door with a classic Rozay flow. His muscular delivery bodies the production before 21 Savage rolls through with a menacing cameo offset by a simmering and soaring appearance from soul siren Jazmine Sullivan.
Earlier in the month, Ricky Rozay publicly broke the new album news during an actual NBA game.
It sets the stage for RICHER THAN I EVER BEEN. During the Miami Heat’s home game against the Boston Celtics last Thursday, he personally announced the release date and lit up social media. The album represents a full circle moment for the rap icon. It embodies a new level of excitement for his artistry and life itself. He redefines RICH as far more than money, but more importantly, happiness, health, family, self-reflection, and growth. You can hear it loud and clear on the album.
Rick Ross’ new ‘Richer Than I Ever Been’ album is coming
Yung Renzel’s latest studio effort is set to arrive in time for the holidays. Barring any setbacks, Ricky Rozay’s 21 Savage and Jazmine Sullivan-featured “Outlaws” song was officially slated to drop this Friday, November 12th.

Rick Ross Says His Next Album Is His Best
Recently, Yung Renzel said his upcoming album is the best music he’s ever made. Fans of the Southern crooner have everything to be excited about. It was supposed to drop at the beginning of this year, but Ross delayed the release and used the time to make the album even better.
“Really I feel this is the best album. I make progress every day. The words I use, the positions I’m in. The things I’m able to say. Some of the stuff I’m saying on the album gon’ separate this album from others. A lot of people are going to say Rozay shouldn’t have did thaaaat. I think I should. Why not? That’s what the game needs. I’m only going to bring what the game needs.” (“The Bakari Sellers Podcast”)
Rick Ross Really Followed ‘Fake It ‘Til You Make It’ Mindset
Rick Ross really used to cap, so hopefully he’s telling the truth about his album. Regardless, the hip-hop star recently went online to reveal he followed “fake it ’til you make it” down to a T.
RR went onto Instagram to explain that when he used to rap about expensive watches and luxury items, it was all cap. He says it helped him manifest where he is now. With a net worth estimated to be $40 million, perhaps it worked.
“I remember in my songs I used to put “$100,000 watch” when my watch may have been forty at the time but I knew it would be, you feel me.”
