When West Coast rap superstar YG takes the stage, everyone pulls through. So it’s only right the hip-hop heavyweight managed to sell out the Kia Forum and had his hometown tapping in with some insane celebrity pals taking the stage with him.

YG sells out the iconic Kia Forum

This week, YG came through with some classic anthems - both past and present - and did not disappoint. Along with his own anthems, YG also shared the stage with everyone from longtime pal Mustard and 2 Chainz to Big Sean, Tyga and Ty Dolla $ign.

Thursday night, multi-platinum recording artist and entrepreneur YG headlined a sold-out show at the Kia Forum as part of "The Red Cup Tour"with opening acts Oh Geesy, KalanFrFr, Day Sulan, and D3SZN. LA's "hometown hero" surprised a sold-out crowd of 18,000 by reuniting with DJ Mustard and star guests, including 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Tyga, Roddy Rich, Ty Dolla $ign, and Blxst. YG performed his top hits, such as "Toot it and Boot it," "Left Right," "I Just Wanna Party," "You Broke," "BPT," and more, for the city of Inglewood, across the street from where he created his early music in his mother's garage.

"The Red Cup Tour" follows the release of YG's latest album, "I Got Issues" released on September 30th, 2023, via Def Jam. It reached #12 on the Billboard US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and its lead single, "Toxic" was the #1 rhythmic single on US radio charts. The 17-city tour kicked off on January 20th and makes stops across the U.S. in cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, and more before wrapping up in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Neal S. Need some new tunes to get you ready for the weekend goals? Look no further than 10 Summers Records’ DSTRCT coming through in the clutch with the new Instillation 001 album.

DSTRCT delivers a must-hear with ‘Instillation 001’ album

It’s only 7 songs deep but each one slaps. The hip-hop artist delivers all types of must-hear replay value on the newly released anthem.

10 Summers Records newest signee DSTRCT has released his debut EP, Instillation 001 (10 Summers/Interscope Records), available on all streaming platforms.

Last week, 10 Summers announced adding Southern California based Hip-Hop artist DSTRCT to its roster and released his first single under the label, “O.T.”, produced by Mustard. To kick off the release, Mustardand 10 Summers hosted a private listening dinner in LA. Along with the EP, DSTRCT also dropped an accompanying visual for “O.T.” directed by Derrick Pike. We first find DSTRCT sitting in a living room watching his performance on a TV, cutting to shots of him in the recording booth, stressed over texts from his girl. The video ends with him performing in a post apocalyptic setting with red smoke bombs going off behind him as the sun sets.

”'Installation 001' is my first real offering of music as far as body of work goes, so I'm really excited about that,” says DSTRCT. “Each song is truly a reflection or a soundtrack to my life in that exact moment, so it's all very personal to me. But I want my music to feel like an update to whoever is listening and I think the records on here serve as a genuine introduction to who I am.”

It’s all about the search for perfection with Mustard. The hip-hop mega producer has decided to take his time and put out the best quality of work as the world awaits a much-needed new studio album.

Mustard won't rush out a new album until it’s perfect

The West Coast hitmaker blessed his Instagram with the update on new tunes. Rather than avoid the topic, Mustard acknowledged his need for perfection on the LP has caused its slight setback.

“Today was the day I was supposed announce my new album. I know you all have been waiting in anticipation and I had every intention of releasing the album title, but it’s simply not ready.

So instead of forcing the issue to meet a deadline I decided that you all deserved the best possible product from me and to give you that I have to take my time.

Yall know that I usually do some extravagant stuff on my birthday but with everything going on this year I felt it would be more rewarding instead to spend time in the studio working on my album.

I’ve been pouring all of my energy into my self and music and it feels great. My goal is to be the best version of myself and to give you all a complete body of work I am proud of… and it’s close.”

A bit more than just an album update, Mustard also gave the world a friendly reminder of his 32nd birthday arriving.

“All in all I’m blessed , I’m alive and well and I’m excited to see what magic age 32 has in store for me. Much love, light and respect to everyone that reached out. Peace. BTW THOUGHT I WASNT GONE PUT SOME SHIT ON … THINK AGAIN …”
