Respect The Jux looks like insane fun
While the trailer hits hard, it’s really the overall plot which is an easy selling point for wanting to see this. The accents, seeing Paulie Walnuts from ‘The Sopranos’ and a bunch of other factors make this insanely exciting to crack into once it arrives Friday.
From writer & director G. C. Goba, comes the film adaptation of the celebrated urban crime thriller, "Respect The Jux". Heralded as one of the most prolific of its genre, and based on true events, "Respect the Jux" tells the story of Cat, a young Jamaican man with a corrupt past, who ventures to the United States on a quest to obtain the American dream, the "right" way - only to find it doesn't exist. Attempt after failed attempt, Cat finds himself in despair, and without many options, returns to his old ways. "Respect the Jux" is the age-old struggle between the good, the bad, betrayal, love, and success. By any means. Produced by Miami's own, Anthony "Tone" Jacobs alongside Executive Producer Pusha T.
The stacked Respect The Jux cast
It’s more than me geeking out over Paulie appearing in the film. There are also some other notable faces and even a hip-hop presence to the movie with New York rapper Vado flexing his acting chops.
Making its world premiere on Friday, May 6th, 2022 across all Pay Preview Platforms (Prime Video, HBO Now, Apple, Google Play, etc.) and casted by industry legend Winsome Sinclair (Belly, Nappily Ever After), the film features rising star Ciera Payton (The Walking Dead, The Oval) alongside veteran entertainers: Tony Sirico (Sopranos, Goodfellas, Bronx Tale), Robert Constanzo (Pulp Fiction, Die Hard 2), Tobias Truvillion (Seburg, Hitch), Ed Lover, rapper Vado.
