It’s a celebration for the Murder Master Music Show

You can expect more than a promo drop. Bejda’s popular production is going to have a two-hour broadcast next month.

Longtime music journalist Scott Bejda who spent 15 years with Murder Dog Magazine and started one of Hip Hop's first podcasts, The Murder Master Music Show is going to celebrate his 900th episode Thursday, July 21st from 7-9 pm CST. The podcast first aired in 2004 when the term podcast was coined the same year making it one of the earliest podcasts in the hip-hop game. The first run (2004-2008) was featured in many magazines and on various rapper's websites.

Scott’s been doing this a long time

No overnight journey, Bejda’s production and popular podcast has nearly two decades in the books.

In 2012 Bejda brought back the podcast and hadn't stopped since going ten years straight with 900 episodes in the archive. It has been one of the most quoted podcasts landing on virtually every major Hip Hop media platform and several mainstream news outlets outside of the realm of music. It has also been featured in documentaries, TV shows and featured in books.

Many of today's podcasts forget about the groundwork we put in. We were before YouTube if that tells you anything. Hopefully, the journalists who cover Hip Hop media can tell their readers about our story spanning back nearly two decades. We broke too many stories to count and even years later when other shows do the same content they forget to mention where they first heard it.

Legends appeared on the show over the years

In recent years, Scott’s podcast has welcomed a flurry of big personalities. Everyone from N.W.A.’s former manager Jerry Heller to even the legendary Jesse Ventura has pulled through.

Some of the past guests include DMC, Chuck-D, MC Shan, Bone, Three 6, DJ Yella of NWA, Jerry Heller, to name a few. Outside of Hip Hop, we have interviewed Jesse Ventura, James Lights Out Toney, Hana Ali, Martin Kove (Karate Kid/Cobra Kai), and many others.
