Last Week in Pro Wrestling Today: Wrestlemania Backlash predictions, CM Punk's newest enemy and a Hook partnership?
It was the take home show for WWE this past week. AEW had a pretty damn good week as well. Let’s look into WWE going into Backlash.
**This was written before Sunday’s Wrestlemania Backlash**
It was the take home show for WWE this past week. AEW had a pretty damn good week as well. Let’s look into WWE going into Backlash.
Both Raw and Smackdown revolved around the storyline of RK-McBro, according to Drew McIntyre and the Bloodline. From the opening segment on Raw to the end of Smackdown, the six man tag match has been driving the headlines for the upcoming PPV. And, to be honest, including Drew McIntyre to this rivalry gives it just enough spice to make it even better. The promos were more so fighting, to include the “Acknowledge” moment on Smackdown was funny. Little promo work on the mic, lots of throwing hands and getting physical. My prediction for tonight, the Bloodline is victorious.
The next biggest storyline, has been Charlotte vs. Ronda in an ‘I quit’ match. Charlotte and Ronda had to be separated by almost every official in WWE on Friday night. Ronda came out in defense of Aliyah, and it was a great build to tonights show. Poor Drew Gulak has had to suffer at the hands of both women. They both look strong going into this match so it is anyone’s guess who has the advantage. For me, to continue the storyline, Ronda has to get her vengeance tonight. I don’t know how, but it makes me look back to how Sasha Banks beat Charlotte during their feud. It should be an entertaining one for sure.
Can’t forget AJ and Edge, now that Damian Priest has been banned from ringside. This is a show stealing type match for the evening. Edge in his new heel role has been nothing short of spectacular in driving this storyline. If you now add the likes of fellow Bullet Club member Finn Balor, AJ has to feel some kind of way with someone the likes of Balor in his corner potentially. It makes you wonder does AJ get his vengeance or does Edge continue his reign of terror over WWE and get over on the bulldog. I actually believe Edge gets the victory putting him in a position to chase a title. Can he set his eyes on Roman for this summer?
Lastly for WWE, what about Gunther (Walter)? I mean he has leaned out and looks even better on the main roster. Squashing Gulak the way he did, he has to be a player for Ricochet here soon. The Intercontinental Champ was not on television this week, but I have to believe this is the road being taken to make Gunther a serious player on the heel spectrum. He’s great, and now he’ll get to show the world as the Ring General.
And over in the AEW…
AEW was intense in Baltimore this week. Hangman Page, made it known he is not interested in being a good sport about his match with CM Punk at the end of the month. He is out to prove a point. He wanted to break CM Punk. This will be Hangman’s toughest test he’s had as champ. That’s saying a lot considering who he has defended the belt against. Can’t wait to see it at Double or Nothin’.
Wardlow was once again in a match at the wishes of MJF. He’s still under that contract and has finally reached his breaking point. With the introduction of Morrissey from Impact Wrestling (Big Cass for those unfamiliar with who he is) Wardlow was in a fight. Big men, throwing haymakers again. But, probably the most athletic move of the night came from Wardlow with the moonsault on Morrissey. Setting up a power bomb for the win. MJF is willing to take on Wardlow to free him from his contract, but in typical MJF fashion the contract signing will have stipulations, which will be revealed next week. Think along the lines of the Trials of Jericho. I can see it going much like that story did.
Not going to lie, I am on board with a Danhausen and Hook team up. Hook the silent assassin seems to want no part of Danhausen, but that won’t stop him from trying. Nese challenged Danhausen and Danhausen reached out to Hook for support. He made a huge mistake in putting his hands on Hook though. Hook shoved him to the ground and Danhausen gave him a gift. In confusion, Hook took it, then threw it on the ground Lonely Island style. But the deafening chants of HookHausen can’t be ignored by the silent assassin, can they?
Predictions for Wrestlemania Backlash:
Charlotte vs. Ronda “I Quit” match: Winner: Ronda Rousey
Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins: Winner: Cody Rhodes
AJ Styles vs. Edge: Winner: Edge
Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss: Winner: Madcap Moss
Bobby Lashley vs. Omos: Winner: Omos
The Bloodline vs RK-Bro/Drew McIntyre: Winner: The Bloodline
There were quite a few side stories going into this week, but I wanted to focus on the main stories going into tonight’s Wrestlemania Backlash. The Theory/Ali story will pick up steam going forward, but we have to wait and see. They need to start getting ready for Money In the Bank and this seems to be a good segway to the game changing event. AEW had a few moments we need to see develop especially with the Jericho Appreciation Society and Eddie Kingston. If you want to continue the conversation by all means leave a comment or hit me up on the social media. Twitter: @Zero2Hero or IG: Rproctor23. Talk with you all next week!
This Week In Pro Wrestling: All hail Roman Reigns, Eddie Kingston's mighty return and Kevin Owens' double take
What a great week in professional wrestling! Wrestlemania was a great weekend. I was in attendance for last Saturday night, it was amazing! There was a lot which happened over the last week, but with all that happened this week was a great building block to whatever comes next.
What a great week in professional wrestling! Wrestlemania was a great weekend. I was in attendance for last Saturday night, it was amazing! There was a lot which happened over the last week, but with all that happened this week was a great building block to whatever comes next.
AEW had a great week as well, but before we get there, let’s get into WWE.
It’s all about RAW, dog
Cody Rhodes made his ‘shocking’ return to WWE at Mania as Seth Rollins mystery opponent. After his opening promo which was phenomenal, we have an idea of what is in store for Cody. He’s already my choice for Money In the Bank winner. But, that’s two months away. Right now, Cody gets his welcome back tour underway with Miz this coming Monday. Miz needs to keep an eye on his back though, I can’t imagine Logan Paul will forget what happened at the end of their tag match with the Mysterios.
The other side of this is, where does this leave Seth Rollins? That’s back to back Mania’s he has taken an L. He’s too damn good to not be involved in a major storyline. Where does he go from here? Time will tell. I hope Seth isn’t out of the title picture too long.
Did you all see Ezekiel? ‘Younger’ brother of Elias. Kevin Owens had just finished his segment and then here he comes. Zeke made his presence known with a pretty damn funny spot with KO. What a way to introduce yourself after Owens took on one of the greats in Stone Cold. Ezekiel seems like something that can be pretty hilarious if we play the entertainment card.
Dolph Ziggler was out representing NXT in a title defense against Bron Brekker. This match was pretty good as we saw at Stand and Deliver, DZ was able to retain, only to lose a hard fought match with Brekker in the rubber match. Brekker is going to be a top tier talent one day, he is where he needs to be right now in representing the NXT brand. Can’t wait to see what is in store next for him.
Time to layeth the SmackDown!
Smackdown was fun as well. We got to see the introduction of Gunther (Walter) for the first time on the main roster. He was introduced in a squash match, but there has to be big things in store for him. One of, if not the top talents in NXT and NXT UK, is finally going to showcase his talents on Fox.
In one of the more under appreciated stories, Happy Corbin and Mad Cat Moss had a breakup. Mad Cat coming off his Andre The Giant Battle Royal victory has been on a bit of a hot streak, but Happy lost to Drew McIntyre at Mania halting all his momentum to the top. Happy blamed Moss and Moss was having none of that noise. Mad Cat showed he wants all the smoke. He is primed to take on Happy at some point in the near future, but how will Mad Cat do on his own without the leadership of Happy Corbin?
Roman Reigns. Head of the Table. Tribal Chief. Now, you can call him Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of WWE. He took down the Beast on Mania Sunday. He’s conquered EVERYONE! The Bloodline is primed to take all the gold from everyone who stands in the way. Roman needs something else. Total domination, ordering the Usos to challenge RK-Bro to unify their belts. All the gold for the Bloodline. Here comes Shinsuke Nakamura. I’ll tell you this, while he may not beat the Tribal Chief, I have been waiting for this for a while. Shinsuke will give Roman another unique challenge. The King of Strong Style is not to be taken lightly in this role against Roman. I can’t wait to see this program develop.
AEW had a helluva week as well. Opening up on Dynamite Adam Cole earned a hard fought one against Christian Cage. At the end Cole immediately challenged the Hangman. To which the Hangman wanted to do some ‘cowboy sh*t!’ Next week, Texas Death Match. Cole vs. Page for the AEW championship. Adam Page has had one of the better runs as champion in AEW, I expect it to end in a glorious fashion this coming week. The build for a Adam Cole and CM Punk match would be INSANE!
Speaking of insane, did you see the return of Eddie Kingston?! I mean they beat the hell out of the Jericho Appreciation Society. It was an a$$whooping. This has to end in some sort of brawl street fight type match. No way this stays in a regular match. It would not do the story any justice. Give us something INSANE Mr. Khan!
Samoa Joe is All Elite. That’s the sentence. Joe being in the ring is just right. Sucks he didn’t get healthy enough for WWE to clear him but, he’s where he belongs - in the ring. Love to see it.
Aside from Becky Lynch/Bianca Belair, the best match of the last month was a tag match on Dynamite with FTR and the Young Bucks. These two teams gave all they had and more, and then some more. Just a flat out awesome match. It had everything. I turned off the tv feeling like I had just been through a match. It was that good. FTR managed to retain their titles, but damn did they earn it with the Young Bucks. They may be the two best teams in the world. One of them deserves a shot at Jungle Boy/Luchasaurus. Who is completely up to Mr. Khan. Now we wait.
Yes, I know I didn’t cover everything that happened over Wrestlemania week, but I legit could write a book on all that happened. What did you think of this week? What do you think is going to happen next for WWE or AEW? Continue the conversation in the comments, or hit me up via social media. Find me on twitter: @zero2hero or IG: Rproctor23. See you all next week!
This Week In Pro Wrestling: Stone Cold's back-back, MJF/CM Punk aftermath, RK-Bro's far from over
Injuries just keep happening lately. No one is more beloved than Big E. He took a bad bump this past week and ended up with a broken neck. He’s kept his fans in the loop, doesn’t require surgery, but still going to be sidelined for a while. He will be missed during that time. Prayers up to the one and only Big E.

This week in Professional wrestling built upon the madness of last week. Let’s start with AEW first as we got the results of a wild Revolution pay per view.
The PPV was loaded with bangers. From the opening match of Jericho/Kingston, to the main event of the battle of the Adam’s. Jericho v. Kingston was a good as advertised. Kingston got the W tapping out Jericho, and finally proving he “could win the big one.” Jericho didn’t hold up his end of the bargain though in shaking his hand. But, on Rampage, not only did Jericho shake his hand, him and Jake Hager beat the living hell out of Kingston to send a bigger message. Heel Jericho > Face Jericho.
MJF and CM Punk put on one of the most physical matches I have ever seen in professional wrestling. The dog collar match got violent, explicit, and bloody. It was amazing storytelling from those two and they deserve to be recognized for such an amazing match which seemed to wrap up the story between the two best in the world as they would have you say. Wardlow was the one who tipped the scale in favor of Punk. Wardlow breached his contract with MJF, so what does that mean for him as he goes into his match this week against the new TNT champ in San Antonio. (Can’t wait to see it!)
The story of the night to go along with the AEW title match, the arrival of William Regal during the Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson match. Another match which was amazing in every aspect. They beat the hell out of each other. With Mox picking up the W, and now having the manager in Regal. We are looking at one helluva a stable going forward. Two alpha dogs in AEW get the opportunity to leave a huge mark on the company. I can’t wait to see where this goes and who decides to go after them first.
Lastly, Adam Page was able to retain against Adam Cole. Was definitely surprised at the outcome because Adam Cole has been on such a tear lately, I definitely saw this match going the other way. But, that’s the art of AEW. Cole is a superstar the caliber of Shawn Michaels. His time is coming, but will it be at the expense of Adam Page? We will have to see as they are going to run it back this week in a six man tag match this week on Rampage. Adam Cole is clearly not ready to move on from the AEW title picture, Page seems willing to keep going as long as he keeps giving Cole the attention he desires. Seems like we are in for the long haul with these two. If you enjoy pro wrestling, you are as excited as I am for this to continue.
It was insanity for the WWE, too…
Yes, a lot happened in AEW. I couldn’t get it all. But, we can’t ignore WWE and what they did this week. The triple threat tag match for the Raw tag team titles. Randy Orton hit one of his best RKO’s EVER on Chad Gable. I mean, if you haven’t seen it, HOLY SH*T it was awesome. With that, the match was up for grabs and it appeared KO/Seth were on their way to capturing those titles, until Riddle stole it right from under them. Sending both KO/Seth into madness. So much so, Kevin Owens wants a Wrestlemania moment so desperately, he wants the legend ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to show up in Dallas for the KO show. To which ‘Stone Cold’ responded, he’s got one more can of whoop a$$ to hand out.
Smackdown focused on the Roman attack on Brock at Madison Square Garden. The Bloodline drew blood on the Beast and he wants his vengeance. He is going for blood now until they meet at Wrestlemania. Roman wasn’t in the building, but he will be this coming week. What does Brock have in store for the Bloodline? Brock is in the mindset of destroying them, and to get to Roman, The Usos may be in trouble.
Continuing with the Usos, they now have an opponent for Wrestlemania, Shinsuke and his name is RICK! BOOGS! While not much time to build a great story, the match on paper is one capable of stealing the show on Saturday night. Can’t wait to see it develop.
Ricochet defended his title against Sami Zayn. The funny story behind this is, Johnny Knoxville had a flyover of Hollywood broadcasting Zayn’s phone number to the world. It was hilarious. Zayn is selling this match brilliantly because many purists are against it, but come on, it’s entertainment. Let’s be entertained for a bit. This was clearly heavy on Zayn’s head as Ricochet put in work and retained his belt. Ricochet is realizing his potential and doing things we knew he was capable of. He’s an amazing performer and it should make everyone happy he is getting his chance with an upper level title.
Ronda and Charlotte had another standoff. Charlotte staked her claim as the top dog in the Smackdown women’s division. They had a really good promo battle which, I believe Charlotte is the best in the business along with Sasha Banks. The show ended with Charlotte flexing her muscle on Ronda on a car with a unique submission move which left Ronda laid out. How will Ronda respond this week?
A lot happened this week in wrestling. Jeff Hardy was a big piece I didn’t cover. If you want to continue the discussion hit me up on the social media, Twitter: @Zero2Hero or IG: Rproctor23.
This Week In Pro Wrestling: Edge loses his mind on AJ Styles, RK-Bro's run might be done, AEW doesn't disappoint
What an INSANE week of professional wrestling! I mean, for real SO much happened it was tough to pick out what stood out the most. From Raw to Rampage, there was a lot process. I mean, come on, Tony Khan bought up Ring of Honor. This is HUGE business. Which puts Cody Rhodes to WWE in jeopardy. Let’s dive into it with what is happening in WWE first.

I mean, come on, Tony Khan bought up Ring of Honor. This is HUGE business. Which puts Cody Rhodes to WWE in jeopardy. Let’s dive into it with what is happening in WWE first.
(Disclaimer, I wrote this before the Revolution PPV Sunday night. Will cover those results next time.)
It was some serious Raw dog moments, y’all…
Monday night was one of the better nights in a while for WWE. Raw is clearly the ‘secondary’ show. Sorry folks but it is a fact. Is there a legit chance the Kevin Owens and his best friend Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins end up as Raw tag champs? They have beat both teams going into the triple threat Monday night. KO even called his shot after tomorrow they want their own title v. title match at Mania with the Usos. This is something that needs to happen. That would be a match that could steal the show if given the opportunity in Dallas.
This brings me to, what is wrong with RK-Bro? They lost to the Street Profits. Story-wise to me, where are they going with this? Is this the beginning of the end for the odd couple? We know it’s going to happen, but is it now? Randy can’t be happy right now with the last two outings going into tonight.
Staying on the tag team division, we got a small sample of Becky/Bianca. Bianca definitely left her mark on Becky, literally and figuratively. She made sure to post it on IG how Bianca can utilize her hair. Sheesh, the welts looked tough.
In the surprise of the night, Finn Balor was able to defeat Damian Priest to become United States champion. In what appeared to be a heel turn for Priest, he destroyed Balor afterwards. Finn won the match, but you know this isn’t over. How does Finn respond? While Damian Priest has an alter ego, let’s not forget so does Finn. We haven’t heard from the Demon since he faced off against Roman Reigns not too long ago.
Raw ended in a bizarre fashion as well. Edge has his opponent for Wrestlemania in the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles. But, what we didn’t expect was Edge to straight up crush AJ with a concerto to end the night. Edge lost his mind quick. AJ has to respond in some way this week. And we know he won’t let that go unanswered.
Smackdown had some major moments, too…
And, that was just on Raw! Told you it was an insane week! Smackdown didn’t disappoint either. We have a NEW Intercontinental Champion in one of the people’s favorites Ricochet! With a little distraction from Johnny Knoxville, Ricochet was able to capitalize and put down the Master Strategist Sami Zayn. I jumped off my couch in excitement because even though we love Ricochet, I don’t think anyone was expecting him to win.
The Bloodline decided to flex their muscle on Shinsuke/Rick Boogs as they interrupted them to remind everyone that Wrestlemania season belongs to the Tribal Chief. For me, after that promo, Roman is on a new plain of superstar for WWE. This is potential realized with how they have put together Roman. The Usos then went on to defeat the Viking Raiders in a match for the Smackdown tag titles. So, if Seth/KO win, will The Usos accept the challenge?
AEW’s momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon…
Sheesh, that was a lot. AEW was no different. Tony Khan opened the show with his ROH announcement, then we got a Bryan Danielson match with a Mox/Bryan promo battle. It’s going to get violent tonight with those two, so be ready. The build to this match has been great. An out of character experience for Danielson.
Jericho and the Inner Circle seemed to have made their peace with each other, but that does not mean he has forgot about Eddie Kingston. Jericho cut another GOAT type promo to get ready for the match tonight. I think this is the perfect time to put a guy like Kingston over if AEW is serious about pushing him, or even setting him up for a ROH run.
Lastly, with all that has happened in WWE/AEW, no story matters more than MJF and CM Punk. You want something that looks deeper than wrestling and is a psychological and goes into dark territory, watch how this story has developed. It all led up to MJF dismantling CM Punk. Leaving Punk in a pool of his blood and then leaving a lasting message, “I am the devil himself!” I can’t tell you who will win this one, but after that showing, I really don’t care. MJF has put himself as a top heel in the world, and Punk the anti-hero because we all remember he left us high and dry for seven years. I hope Punk gets the W, but deep down, I think I am in MJF’s corner.
Like I said in the beginning, a lot happened this week. After the Revolution results, we can analyze it a little bit more. But, ATC family, until next time. If I missed anything or you want to keep the conversation going, you know where to find me on the social media. Twitter: @Zero2Hero and IG: Rproctor23
This Week In Pro Wrestling: WWE star Cesaro's a free agent, Logan Paul's arrival, Jericho reigns supreme and more
This week in professional wrestling was CRAZY! The road to Mania is shaping up to be, interesting to say the least. The hard core fans are all over themselves as we know we are getting Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley at Revolution. It just keeps getting better and better. Let start on the WWE side of things.
Before we dive into WWE, let’s say farewell to the ‘real’ people’s champ, Cesaro! His contract expired with WWE and he is free to go wherever he pleases. Along with Bray Wyatt, there wasn’t a guy who was more over than him and just didn’t have the opportunity. Good luck Cesaro wherever you land.
Guess who got their wish and wants to take their shot at the tag titles. The Best Friends of Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens! Yup. That’s right. They beat RK-Bro AGAIN! While I don’t know the angle they’re playing at, it could be something super dope with all three of those teams getting after it this Monday.
Brock Lesnar fresh off his victory in the Chamber came out in his new Cowboy attire calling out his opponent The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Before Brock could get into his promo, ‘LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! My name is Paul Heyman!’ The special council to Roman Reigns dropped in to put Brock on notice. Brock wasn’t having it and put Paul and Roman on notice about showing up to Smackdown to sign the contract for the “biggest match in Mania history.” More on that later.
Remember when I said one of the Paul brothers would show up for the Miz? Well, Logan came out at the one to team up with the must see superstar. And it became official, Miz/Logan Paul vs. the Mysterios. Miz killing it again, going after one of the most ‘hated’ people in social media, just fits who and what the Miz is going for. Can’t wait to see the build for this. Miz has a knack for bringing his best material for Mania season. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Bianca Belair went fact to face with the Big Time Becky Lynch. She gets her chance again at Wrestlemania to dethrone another great. This was one of the best moments on Raw. The exchange between the EST and Becky was awesome. This build is off to the right start and should be at its peak when we get to Dallas. Same can be said for Edge.
Edge doesn’t have an opponent yet. The Rated R superstar dropped hints on who he wants to face at Mania with some key easter eggs. Throwing out terms like phenomenal, demon, and even a Cody reference. Who takes up the challenge? I don’t think it will be Finn because he’s got himself tied up in the United States Champion Damian Priest. Cody may be a HUGE stretch, but he strikes me as someone who shows up on the Raw after Mania. So that leaves the Phenomenal One. Let’s see it AJ. Styles vs. Edge at Mania is where I want to place my bet.
Smackdown was okay this past week. Team B.A.D is back. Sasha and Naomi made their claim to go after the tag team champions at Mania. We also saw, Johnny Knoxville get all up in Sami Zayn’s grill. With that, we saw our guy Ricochet shoot his shot and get in the Intercontinental Title mix as he just asked Adam Pearce for a match, AND GOT IT! Will Ricochet get a fair shake? I don’t know, but we at least know we will have a helluva match next week. These two kill it in the ring together.
Lastly, Roman cut one of the best promos of his life in the contract signing with Brock. I AM WRESTLEMANIA! Now wrestling purest folks will be like easy slugger, that’s Shawn Michaels. Look we know okay, but no one has been more relevant right now than the Tribal Chief. Let’s just leave it at that.
…. and then there was AEW
AEW was even better this week. MJF made people actually feel sorry for him. He cut a super hard shoot style promo on CM Punk. He was relatable as so many people felt how he did when CM Punk left professional wrestling. He left everyone who believed in him. MJF was no different than any of us that day. Punk even needed to come out and question the validity of it. MJF just further establishing he may very well be the best in the world of professional wrestling.
Adam Cole and Adam Page are full f’n tilt right now. This has the potential to be the best match of the year. Cole is right where he belongs in the AEW title picture, and Hangman isn’t making it easy for him. It’s going to be a wild week to get to Revolution.
Bryan Danielson took out another strong competitor in convincing fashion drawing out the Wild Thing Jon Moxley. Bleed together if they must, but Danielson isn’t afraid of it. In fact he used it as a threat to Mox. If you want violence, you will get it with this one. I think after they throw down next week, they do eventually build a faction and make their run through all AEW. That type of star power can be ignored. We know how Mox fares in a stable (The SHIELD), now throw in Danielson. Sheesh.
Unpopular opinion, not a huge Eddie Kingston fan. But, him and Jericho stole the show without having to throw a single punch. They took shot after shot at each other. Neither one backed down. But, the GOAT put Eddie away with his parting words. ‘You look like it, but deep down you know you’re afraid of success. Can’t win the big one. And you won’t win the big one.” Eddie wasn’t ready. Cue Judas as Jericho walks out the ring. That will be a good one.
Lastly, Sammy and Andrade opened Rampage on Friday night. That may as well have been the main event. It was incredible. That story is long from over. We need more Sammy vs. Andrade. And we also need a Broken Matt Hardy. He keep teasing it. Especially since Jeff Hardy is rumored on his way to AEW. So many other stories going on in professional wrestling, if I missed one you wanted to discuss, feel free to hit me up on the socials.
Enjoy this week as it can only get better going forward. Hit me up on Twitter: @zero2hero or IG: Rproctor23. Talk with you all next week ATC fam.
This Week In Pro Wrestling: Elimination Chamber shocks the world w/ Bobby Lashley injury and AEW goes all in
Before I get into this week in professional wrestling, wanted to send a get well to Bobby Lashley who ended up in concussion protocol on a stunt went wrong. Will explain more later.
Before I get into this week in professional wrestling, wanted to send a get well to Bobby Lashley who ended up in concussion protocol on a stunt went wrong. Will explain more later.
What a really entertaining week of wrestling over the last seven days! WWE came full circle with most of their stories at the Elimination Chamber, and AEW went ALL IN for their upcoming pay per view next month. Let’s start with the Elimination Chamber.
Not to anyone’s surprise, Roman Reigns retained against an aging Goldberg. I want to get this straight. I have no issues with Goldberg, and all he contributed to wrestling over his career. He was a great performer at one point in time. Now…not so much. Roman took a couple spears, but the match was never in question. Roman got the guillotine in and put him to sleep. We now have confirmation of at least the Universal Champ Roman Reigns will hold his spot going into Wrestlmania.
After that, the show got pretty interesting, setting up other storylines for the show of shows. Miz may have lost to Rey Mysterio, but he’s had to make a call to a soon to be tag partner going forward. There is rumor swelling around the return of Cody Rhodes. I seriously hope they do better than that for him. It would be an AWESOME reveal, but I am thinking it will be someone like one of the Paul brothers. The Women’s chamber match was great as well, with Bianca Belair finding a way to win among Raw’s top women. I was rooting for Liv, but her time just isn’t there yet. It will be, just keep watching.
Becky defended her title in typical Big Time form, as she has done many times. Setting up the much anticipated rematch between her and Bianca. Will that live up to last year’s match with Sasha? Have to wait and see. They are more than capable of stealing the show. The build is going to be fun for this one. Guess what, the road to Wrestlemania is in full effect. Raw and Smackdown are going to be must see television as the build up is growing.
Circling back to Bobby Lashley. He did not even get to compete in his title defense in the Chamber. A stunt gone bad with Seth Rollins and Austin Theory took a bad turn as Bobby was hit with the plexiglass as Theory was thrown into Bobby’s pod. As the match continued for me it was Riddle who stole the show. This guy has a HUGE future in front of him. He has had many instances of wanting to build something with Brock Lesnar, and after that performance in the Chamber maybe he has something with him in the future. But, Brock understood the assignment once Lashley couldn’t compete. Lashley’s pod was set to open but Brock kicked his way out of his and squashed EVERYONE. Even went as far as to hit Austin Theory with an F5 off the top of a pod. Super dope spot, and then we have a new WWE Champion. Setting up Brock v. Roman, Champion v. Champion.
…and then there was AEW
AEW came through in the clutch this week as well. CM Punk went with a pipebomb style promo against MJF. He got personal breaking out the viral picture of MJF as a kid taking a picture with his then hero. After winning last week, Punk got to pick the stipulation and location of his rematch with MJF. And now we have a Dog Collar match at AEW Revolution. MJF for the first time in his career was left speechless.
Bryan Danielson went to war with Lee Moriarty, and it was fantastic. Danielson wanted to send a message to Jon Moxley. Message was received and Mox came out to address Danielson about his proposed team up. Mox didn’t say yes or no. More so, it sounded like he wanted to fight him first to see if it’s worth his time and energy. Did you all get the same vibe? The wild card wants a fight, shocker. I hope we get it too, because those two are capable of setting a place on fire.
The return of Eddie Kingston put the Inner Circle in shambles. Jericho was all sorts of distracted and Jack Hagar couldn’t get it back on track. After Santana/Ortiz picked up the victory, Jericho went straight after Kingston. The time is coming for these two to settle it on the mic and in the ring. So, if you’re a fan of deep cutting promo’s and shoot style comments, you’re in for a treat. It’s coming. Just sit back and enjoy the chaos.
Lastly, Darby/Sammy. They just continue to set the bar for quality matches. Just such a well done and put together match. The match hit its peak when Andrade SMASHED his tablet across Darby’s head setting up the GTH for Sammy to pick up the victory. Andrade has time after time said he will be the one to take the TNT title. Andrade is making his claim to be next in line. Is Sammy going to take on the challenge? If that’s what’s next, AEW is going to get nuts during this build to Revolution.

This Week In Pro Wrestling: AEW completely edges WWE with Jay White, Keith Lee, MJF and Moxley
This week in professional wrestling has been interesting to say the least. Thing is, AEW had all the momentum this week. If was fantastic to watch. WWE had a pretty good week, but it was all driven by Smackdown. Let’s start with AEW.
This week in professional wrestling has been interesting to say the least. Thing is, AEW had all the momentum this week. If was fantastic to watch. WWE had a pretty good week, but it was all driven by Smackdown. Let’s start with AEW.
I swear, MJF is the best thing in professional wrestling right now. He’s better than the best in the world, and you know it! What a humble and classy way to let the world know, you beat the best in the world in their hometown, not only once but TWICE! MJF made sure you knew it in one helluva promo. Yes, it wasn’t clean victory, and he even went on to thank the wrong person in Shawn Spears, when it was Wardlow who really put MJF over the top. CM Punk noticed and dropped the challenge to rematch with MJF. It’s not that easy Punk, MJF gave him the chance at a rematch but he had to beat FTR without Darby Allin or Sting.
Who the hell is going to team up with someone the track record of CM Punk? It would have to take someone crazy. Someone who can throw hands with anyone. A wild thing…of course you know the only one for the job was JONNNN MOXLEY! The tag match was everything we could hope for. Hard fought, physicality, drama, the whole package and eventually Punk/Mox got the W, meaning here soon we got another Punk/MJF match. Now it is a matter of when. The Pinnacle was clearly pissed at the result. How does MJF respond to this or does he go to war with Mox for getting in his business. I hope for the latter.
Then, it happened. Jay White of NJPW showed up for his buddy Adam Cole (soon to be AEW champ. I said it!) He assisted in the beat down Roppongi Vice. A huge step in walking through the ‘forbidden door.’ And he wasn’t even the story of the evening in the debut department.
The Limitless One, KEITH LEE debuted and made light work of Private Party. The pop when his music hit was way more than we saw during his WWE run. The build has already started to make Lee a top draw. With a continuously growing roster, and some folks awaiting return, the opportunities for Keith Lee are HUGE. What I wouldn’t give to see Keith Lee and Miro. And that’s not to farfetched. Or even Lee versus Hagar. Sheesh.
What’s happening to the Inner Circle? The meeting went to hell quick, and even when Sammy tried to get a word in, it just got worse. The Inner Circle is imploding, but maybe if they just fight it out things will get better. Hence the tag match this coming week. Eddie Kingston just planted a small seed and now the destruction of the Inner Circle is commencing. I for one can’t wait to see it unfold. Jericho = GOAT!
The Texas Death Match. Hangman Page and Lance Archer tore the damn roof off. From Page’s backflip in the crowd to the Blackout to the outside of the ring on to the steel steps. To go with the blood spilling all over, it was a fight. A damn good one too. Page ended up retaining as he hit the buckshot lariot and put Archer through the table. That wasn’t the end of it though. As the show was coming to a close, ADAM COLE BABAY, established himself as next in line. Refer to my statement earlier. Next champ.
…. and then there was the WWE
WWE had a good week. More build towards the Elimination Chamber this coming Saturday. Is there any scenario you see where Brock doesn’t come out as champ? I believe the writing is on the wall he will dominate the chamber in typical Brock fashion. Bobby Lashley is great in this role, but it feels like he is getting put in a no win situation. The All Mighty is doing his best to hold it down. The Chamber is just so loaded it will be tough to come out as champ.
Edge had some interesting news outside of Raw. He has made it known he would like to see the Phenomenal One in the ring at Wrestlemania. Could we get a better match than that at the show of the immortals? That would be enough for me to want to go out of my way up to Dallas.
Book it now Vince! This is one we want. No. This is one we need!
Smackdown was good. The Roman/Goldberg build has hit it’s peak. Both are going strong with their promos. But, Roman killed it with the “I am going to Goldberg, Goldberg” line, hinting that Goldberg makes quick work of his opponents, so will Roman make quick work of him. (I hope so).
The match of the night though was Charlotte/Naomi. Naomi showcased again she is a top tier talent in the women’s division. Charlotte is clearly the best in the business, and Naomi went toe to toe and didn’t back down from the opportunity. It was truly awesome. Charlotte got the W and then here comes Sonya Deville to rub it in her face. Still don’t know where they are going with this story, but it’s still going strong. Here comes Ronda Rousey. Rousey was having none of those shenanigans. Charlotte has Rousey to look forward to at Mania. But, the Chamber is coming this Saturday. Does anyone get another shot at the opportunity on Saturday? Have to wait and see. The way the match ended, Naomi has to get another shot at the champ right? I think so, but with a stipulation involved. Or could we see the return of Sasha Banks? Find out next week on Dragon Ball…wait wrong show. Find out on Smackdown.
A lot happened this week as you can see. If I missed anything and you want to keep the conversation going reach out on Twitter: @Zero2Hero or on IG: Rproctor23. Talk with you all next week!
This Week In Pro Wrestling: AEW madness but it's all about the Royal Rumble moments
Holy sh*t! What a week is professional wrestling! Lets start with AEW. Maxwell Jacob Friedman made his HUGE announcement as he will finally throw down with CM Punk in his hometown of Chicago! If anyone was built to embrace the hostility of Chicago and get the job done, it’s MJF. Let’s be honest, he’s just better than you and he knows it. It’s not the outcome you want, but it’s the outcome we deserve.

Sammy Guevara and Cody Rhodes tore the house down in putting on possibly the match of the year and it’s only late January. Super intense from start to finish. Where does the TNT champ Sammy go from there? Someone has to step up to the champ this week on Dynamite. I’m rooting for someone like Miro to make a return and comeback for his title.
Hangman Page had to make a stand too against Lance Archer. Sheesh, the tall task of taking down Archer may be much for the Hangman. He need to send a message to Archer, but how? He’s physically outmatched.
Now… about the Royal Motherf**king Rumble
So, the Royal Rumble, was a relatively good show. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins opened the show, and everything was great, until the DQ happened. Roman exorcised his demons of the SHIELD and Rollins with extreme chairman like precision. It was great to see, just the finish was just…unfortunate.
The Rumble matches were both relatively good. The womens match had some really good spots but some really bad ones too, like, Ivory. BUT, the baddest woman on the planet made her comeback, Ronda Rousey was in the house and she came out on top by eliminating the champ Charlotte Flair, giving her the choice who she will face at Mania. My money is on unfinished business with Becky Lynch who held her title in a hard fought match against Doudrop.
Lashley and Lesnar held up their end as they had a (Jim Ross voice) slobber knocker. And just as Lesnar was about to secure the victory, DOWN GOES THE REF, in typical WWE fashion. It was hilarious, and great for storytelling purposes because we got the plot twist. Can you ever trust Paul Heyman? Here comes Roman with the Superman punch, and Paul Heyman, SPECIAL COUNSEL, hands the Tribal Chief the belt and smashes Brock’s face in, securing the victory for the All Mighty Bobby Lashley. AND NEW WWE CHAMPION.
That set up the men’s Royal Rumble. Okay, the match was fine. There were no really big returns, or surprises except for maybe Bad Bunny, who held his own. My favorite going into the match was Big E. And he looked to be on his way to a victory as he was gaining momentum. Then….it happened. Number 30. Usually reserved for the BIG spot in the match.
The music hit….and here comes as pissed off BEAST INCARNATE. BROCK LESNAR! Once his music hit we all knew the outcome. He wouldn’t be denied his opportunity to get vengeance on Roman at Mania. He eliminated the field with ease. It’s all but a forgone conclusion it’s Roman/Lesnar closing out Mania weekend in Dallas. But, now, who goes after The All Mighty? I hope we get a hint tomorrow night. I’m high on Big E getting another shot at the All Mighty on the big stage.
There were so many other moments this past week and things to look forward to this week. If I missed anything you wanted to discuss, hit me up on the socials. Twitter: @zero2hero and IG: Rproctor23 This week should be dope as we hit the road the Wrestlmania and AEW’s big time PPV.
This Week In Pro Wrestling: RK-Bro's not backing down, Otis is just Otis, CM Punk demolishes
What’s up ATC family?! Did you all catch any WWE/AEW action last week? It seemed uneventful, but a lot happened.
What’s up ATC family?! Did you all catch any WWE/AEW action last week? It seemed uneventful, but a lot happened.
Let’s start with Bobby Lashley squaring off with, Seth Freakin’ Rollins. If you’re deep in this game, you understand there was no way either of those two were going to lose going into their championship matches at the Rumble this coming weekend. Hence the interference by the Hurt Business and my dudes, The Uso’s. Each one added an extra layer to their story. Roman Reigns sent a message, the Uso’s while even banned from ringside (explain later) should be accounted for. The Hurt Business, has been trying to reunite and Lashley wants nothing to do with them. Could they cost the All Mighty his golden opportunity, or is this a smoke screen for them to show they’re capable of getting Bobby Lashley want he wants, the beat the brakes off the Beast Brock Lesnar.
Put some respect on WWE standout Doudrop
Anyone see how Doudrop is holding her own in building her program with Becky Lynch? She doesn’t have to even speak to keep up. Her ability to do it all in the ring with the aggression and impressive move set, should put Becky on notice going into Saturday night. The match should be fun to watch as we don’t know what Doudrop has up her sleeves with her size and heelish capabilities.
The RK-Bro/Alpha Academy segment was one of the better segments on both shows this week. Our bro, Riddle is just great, and he is even more over with Randy Orton in his….for now. It’s just a matter of time until it happens. You know what I am speaking is true. Chad Gable is finding his way into that Kurt Angle type character, with the skills to go with along with it. All that’s missing is either the three I’s or It’s true, it’s damn true! And Otis is just Otis. He’s great in any way they decide to use him. He’s a peacock, just gotta let him fly.
Smackdown was big in regards to the Universal title picture. Roman and Rollins now has the Uso’s banned from the ring. If you have been following this story, Roman has yet to beat Seth 1v1. Seth even dropped a Mox reference in his opening promo which was great. These two don’t need a huge build because for WWE, these are the guys, and that includes Brock Lesnar. But, with the emergence of Kevin Owens in Rollins corner, is he the X factor to get Seth his title back? If so, does that put KO as the favorite to win the Rumble? We have to see how this week pans out in the go home shows before the first major PPV of the year for WWE.
CM Punk and Bryan Danielson highlight some wild AEW antics
Speaking of Mox, the wild thing is BACK! And he came in dropping fire telling people in DC to F**k off and get out of there. His promo was nothing short of phenomenal. You could see he was back in shape and ready to make up for lost time away from AEW. Only to have a great match on Friday night, and then waiting for him….Bryan Danielson? Does Danielson have his eyes locked in on the megastar? What a storyline that could be for Mox to be thrown straight into the main event picture. No warmup, here’s the American Dragon, good luck Mox.
Same can be said for Cody Rhodes. Talk about Pipebombs, Cody spit fire at EVERYONE on Dynamite. Cody is the TNT champion, Sammy Guevara is the interim champion. I think you know where this story ends. Much like the days of old Razor Ramon/Shawn Michaels, we got a ladder match in our future. Those two are sure to light up the arena when they square off in the near future.
CM Punk made short work of Shawn Spears. Like, he squashed him. It wasn’t entertaining at all. The Chairman, got squashed. Afterwards, Punk got a hand on MJF. The match is coming, it’s all that’s left. Punk is going to address the situation this week, I wonder how he draws MJF into the match. MJF is just living the life as the heel of the world, and he just keeps poking the bear of CM Punk. Is this the week he finally gets his hands on him? I hope not, MJF is just better than you and he knows it, Purple Cobra style.
Lastly, Hook. That’s all. That’s all need to be said. Hook. He’s great. If you don’t know. Watch Rampage from Friday. Or any of the matches he’s had so far. It’s only up for him. HOOK!
Don’t forget the Royal Rumble is this coming Saturday night. Who do you think is the favorite going in? Who is going to walk out as champions on Saturday night? Drop it in the comments section or hit me up on the social media, Twitter: @zero2hero or IG: Rproctor23 Keep the conversation going!
This Week In Pro Wrestling: Brock Lesnar goes beast mode, Becky Lynch stands tall and Jericho's back at it
This past week in professional wrestling was INTENSE. Did you all see how Brock Lesnar straight up DESTROYED Bobby Lashley?! I don’t know if that was a shoot or not but holy sh*t, who knew Brock could cut a promo like that without Paul Heyman? How will the All Mighty respond to the heat dropped on him from Lesnar? Will it be from Lashley or will it be from MVP? Lashley needs to save face and QUICK! The Raw locker room is in trouble if they come across Lashley.

The WWE’s packed with upsets, twists and everything in-between
Continuing on WWE’s Raw, the surprise defeat of RK-Bro at the hands of the Alpha Academy shook us all. Otis and Gable are now your Raw tag champs, where do Randy and Riddle go from here? You can expect Randy to put a foot in Riddle’s a$$ some how, but will they get another shot at the AA or do they have to go to the back of the line. It has to end at the Rumble right? I mean, it has to….bro.
The Miz and Edge storyline is keeping me super interested in the mixed tag match. While it still is cool to have Edge back, Miz is carrying this storyline due to the fire he is putting on the mic. Edge and Beth may win, but Miz has won this battle. Certain people get it when it comes to professional wrestling and entertainment, the Miz is one of them.
The BIGGEST surprise of last Monday, Doudrop though? After Becky Lynch’s interference, Doudrop gets Becky at the Rumble. If I am reading between the lines, we are on our way to see Becky/Belair at Mania like we got Belair/Sasha. Not discounting Doudrop, but this match has to make Becky look formidable towards that build. Her character is not ready for Big Time Beck’s.
Continuing on the women’s division, Charlotte and Lita? WWE still goes to this well quite a bit, but it may work. Trish held her own, can Lita do the same?
The grand finale, SHIELD brothers going toe to toe again. Roman has had very little success against Rollins. After watching Smackdown, Rollins is living in Roman’s head rent free right now. Roman needs to exercise those demons of Wrestlemania, where Rollins had probably one of the biggest moments in Mania history cashing in on Roman/Lesnar to capture the WWE title.
It’s deeper than WWE, just look at what AEW’s brewing up
It wasn’t only an intense week in WWE, AEW is building towards something. What I cannot say, but it’s definitely awesome. CM Punk and Wardlow was great. Wardlow essentially destroyed Punk only to be rolled up and pinned. It was power bomb after power bomb. Punk thought he got his match with MJF next, only to find out hes got a date with Shawn Spears and his steel chair.
The return of Lance Archer into the championship mix was definitely intense. He CRUSHED Hang Man Page. It was a statement to the champ, I got next. I wonder how the champ responds. No way he lets that go unanswered. We also saw Cody Rhodes is making his comeback this coming week. The man who started it all, is now getting the Triple H treatment. He’s getting his comeback, but are the fans going to accept him? Who steps up to challenge him for his title?
Andrade though, I thought had to the moment of the night. He tried to buy Darby Allin. Million dollar man style, ‘everyone’s got a price.’ It legit made me laugh. It was great television. He wants all the smoke, and is willing to pay someone to take it for him.
Ending on a high note, Jericho and Kingston. Nothing really needs to be said here. This has been building for some time now. We are now going to start to reap the benefits of their talents on the microphone as they build to an eventual clash. Who gets the upper hand? My money is on the GOAT, Jericho. He will continue to mess with Kingston, and his hot head personality. Kingston will fight til he collapses, and then Jericho will put him down. Just enjoy the build. It will be AWESOME!
