Big Boogie’s new ‘Ova Wit’ anthem deserves replays
Whether you’re putting in a non-stop cardio or weight-based grind or just need to turn up heading out, ‘Ova Wit’ puts you into a hustle hard, paper stack type of state of mind. Memphis rap legend Yo Gotti’s protégé doesn’t miss with this audio gem.
Today, CMG hip-hop artist Big Boogie released his new single, “Ova Wit,” which is currently available to stream via Yo Gotti’s CMG Records.
“Ova Wit” showcases the Memphis native rapping over an explosive trap beat, where he talks about overcoming life in the trenches and growing into his luxury lifestyle. With his distinct voice, Boogie proudly reps CMG with lyrics like “CMG ni**a nothin’ else, Big B in it, that’s how I'm coming.”
The CMG signee continues showcasing his artistic versatility, especially after dropping his melodic single“Mine” earlier this summer. With “Mine,” Boogie displayed his romantic side, showering his significant other with praise and adoration for holding him down.
Earlier this year, Boogie delivered his highly-anticipated project “Definition of Big Dude” that included an appearance from Fat Trel. On the heels of the release in February 2023, Boogie was profiled on XXL’s The Break and featured in Complex, HotNewHipHop and The Source, among others
Aside from his solo projects, Boogie also held his own alongside his labelmates on the CMG compilation album, “Gangsta Art,” with standout songs like “KeKe” and “Buss Down.” Boogie originally signed to CMG in November 2020, when Gotti gifted him with an iced-out CMG chain during a star-studded dinner ceremony to welcome him to the acclaimed label.

Yo Gotti talks to Apple Music 1’s Ebro Darden about new music, ownership and more
Gotti has ample topics to dish on these days. With a flourishing rap career and continuing to put on others through his label and mentorship, there’s plenty of things on the Memphis rap heavyweight’s mind.
Yo Gotti Tells Apple Music He Made This Album Because He Thinks No One is Making “Hustle Music” Anymore…
I was making music in between being in the studio with Glo, working on her next album, and Bagg when we was working on the mixtape. And I found myself in the studio a lot more than I be going. I don't really go to studios that often no more, you know what I'm saying? I record in my living room, I recorded this in my living room in the house. I think the energy of being in the studio, going through beats, picking beats, you know what I'm saying? Mixing and listening to what's in the market. I felt like I was missing something out in the market, in the culture, and then I felt like I could create it…To me, I think it's hustle music. I think hustle music is missing. What Jeezy was doing, what I was doing in that era, get money music. We had music that was the soundtrack and the anthems to us or to hustlers out there. Get money. Now, I think everything is super aggressive or super emotional or depressing. You know what I mean? A lot of it is fire. But I don't think it's hustle music, though. I don't think it's the soundtrack to get money.
Yo Gotti Tells Apple Music His New Strategy Is To Release Shorter Projects…
I think I said on “Driveway Furniture,” "I'm putting nothing but mixtapes out from now on." It's not really a chart goal. It's more like art pieces. I look at it like I want to put out short projects. This is the shortest project I ever put out. So, short projects is like art pieces and they're purposeful. Each project will speak for that moment, whenever I put it out. And it ain't no pressure, because like you said, I'm just doing what I want to do, how I want to do it. It's like exercise.
Yo Gotti Tells Apple Music What He’s Looking For When Considering Signing a New Artist to CMG…
I think the next thing is one of the things about every artist I ever worked with, I always spend time with them, lot of time before we done the deal. Meaning like, "Yo, we like them, we into them. Boom, fly them out to meet with me." I meet with them. If I like them from the first meeting, we just start inviting them around like, "Yo, come kick it with me.” So, say for example now, if I was looking at an artist right now, right now I'm in between GloRilla and Lil Baby tour. I'm in between MoneyBagg Yo tour. So, I'm doing a lot of traveling right now in between both of those. So for example, if I was looking at an artist right now, I'd be like, "Yo, come out here to the Glo tour with me. Let's catch a couple of cities." And I would just have them with me, just moving around through a couple cities. But I'll be paying attention to them. So, it's these little things and details that I think that you can never know unless you actually spend time with the person. So, I try to spend time with every artist I ever worked with. That's how it always worked. And from that point, I can determine is you a hustler? Or is you got short goals or long-term goals? What type of individual you is? Because we don't want to be hustling with nobody with short goals.
Yo Gotti Tells Apple Music Why He Decided To Become a Part Owner of the Major League Soccer Club DC United...
It was a few years ago when I joined the club as an owner, part of the ownership club. I mean, I think diversifying growth as an entrepreneur, I mean, whoever thought we would own part of a professional sports team? And to me, those are one of them things we were talking about earlier when I say I try to show by action. I try to show to the young guys in my city by action, what we can do and what we can become if we stay determined and disciplined and on top of what we're trying to do as young hustlers and entrepreneurs. But when the opportunity presented itself, one, you got to always remember too that you got to be in position when an opportunity do present itself. That's a gem within itself, right? Don't blow all the paper. Make sure you got the paper, make sure you're saving the paper. You never know what opportunity may drop in your lap and you can't even take it. You know what I mean? Because you got too many chains and you're flying too many jets.

It’s deeper than rap
It’s more than just putting out a new project. Gotti’s LP comes at the perfect time with his annual birthday celebration starting up today.
The new release also coincides with the long-awaited return of “Yo Gotti & Friends Birthday Bash 8” that will take place tonight, July 15th at FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN. Earlier this week, Gotti announced that Lil Uzi Vert would serve as one of the special guest performers at the show.
Fans can stream the show at 8 pm CT on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, where Gotti and a surprise array of counterparts and collaborators will perform at the 8th installment of his acclaimed celebration.
“Gangsta Art” comes shortly after Gotti and the CMG label were featured on the cover of Billboard in May, where they were crowned “The Hardest-Working Label in Hip-Hop.”

Yo Gotti and GloRilla have joined forces
Details are just now emerging and reveal Gotti didn’t waste any time making Glo an official part of the team. The partnership now gives her support from both Yo’s label and the iconic Interscope Records.
Today, multiplatinum musician, entrepreneur and record executive, Yo Gotti announces his signing of the most-sought after emerging artist in the industry, GloRilla --off the heels of her smash Billboard Hot 100 anthem “FNF (Let’s Go).”
Since releasing “FNF” in late-April, GloRilla has taken the music industry by storm, as the song sparked the viral #FNFChallenge on TikTok while the music video generated over 22 million views (and counting) since its release in late-April. By signing the scorching star to his esteemed CMG record label in partnership with Interscope Records, Gotti is adding more firepower to CMG’s loaded roster while further showcasing the label’s versatility.
Yo Gotti and GloRilla speak on the huge partnership
It didn’t take long before both Yo and Flo finally broke their silence to dish on their new business relationship. Gotti talked about the rising rap star’s overnight success.
GloRilla is a natural born star – she has a different sound and approach that’s needed in hip-hop right now,” Gotti said. “It’s one of the quickest rises that I’ve seen in my career because she only dropped in late-April and now she has the hottest cultural records in music. Glo is hungry for success and determined to win. We look forward to watching her grow as an artist and reach her full potential.”
Glo’s buzz has only grown stronger courtesy of co-signs from Cardi B, Saweetie and Latto. She even teamed up with Duke Deuce for their ‘Crunk Ain’t Dead’ anthem. So of course she had to speak on catching a major break.
“I’ve put in years of hard work to get this point and I’m blessed to sign with the hottest label in music with CMG,” GloRilla said. “I manifested this moment and trusted my talent even when others didn’t. I’m grateful for Gotti for believing in me and I’m not gonna let up. Trust that I have more new heat on the way.”
The CMG conglomerate keeps growing
Just keeping it 100? CMG is stacked with heavyweights. Everyone from Memphis’ own Moneybagg Yo to EST Gee have found success at the growing enterprise.
The announcement comes shortly after CMG was featured on the cover of Billboard and crowned as “The Hardest-Working Label in Hip-Hop.” Signing GloRilla merely fortifies CMG’s loaded roster that includes Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, Mozzy, Blac Youngsta, Blocboy JB, Lil Poppa, Big Boogie, Lehla Samia and 10Percent.
Through the first six months of 2022, CMG has expanded exponentially. In recent months, Gotti signed his first R&B artist in Lehla Samia, inked Jacksonville hip-hop artist Lil Poppa, brought on up-and-comer 10Percent and announced that Mozzy joined the label at the acclaimed, CMG Press Conference in February.
Most recently, Gotti’s CMG collaboration with Moneybagg Yo, Mozzy and Lil Poppa on “Big League” was recently tapped as the official song of the 2022 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics.

Moneybagg Yo + Ari Fletcher Are Going Nearly Vegan
It all started with Ari going to her Twitter page to reveal her plans to completely switch up her eating habits. In addition to falling back from traditional animal-based cuisine, she also restricted other types of tasty foods.
“30 days of meat, nothing fried, no pasta, no bread. Only fish/shrimp, veggies, brown rice, fruit and water. PRAY FOR ME.”
Fortunately, she won’t take this journey on her own. Fletcher’s ride or die boyfriend Moneybagg Yo is riding with her.

Rihanna Follows JAY-Z’s Vegan Blueprint
Earlier in the year, R&B superstar Rihanna made a major business move in the vegan industry. The Barbados native has reportedly taken a page from JAY-Z's book and further invested in a growing Black-owned company.
Vegan food brand Partake has raised almost $5 million from donors. This is Rihanna’s first investment that isn’t a personal venture, and it seems she’s done it by pitching some major funds to the company. Many other big stars have invested in the company as well, including Hov.
The allergy-friendly food brand closed a $4.8 million series A funding round in late December, led by investors including Rihanna (her first investment beyond personal ventures), Kevin Johnson’s Black Capital, Seattle Seahawks’ Bobby Wagner, Black Star Fund, Once Upon a Farm CEO John Foraker, CircleUp Growth Partners, FF2032 and Marcy Venture Partners. More than 50% of Partake Foods’ total $7.5 million in funding has come from Black investors such as Jay-Z’s VC fund, Marcy Venture Partners, and Grammy Award-winning singer H.E.R. (Forbes)
NLE Choppa Is Living A Healthy Lifestyle Too
Rap newcomer NLE Choppa isn't thinking twice about trying a vegan option at a local fast food spot. The hip-hop star has singled out some of the biggest spots ranging from McDonald's to Taco Bell over the iconic brands' determination to offer vegan options for customers.
Choppa went to his social media pages and didn’t mince words. The hip-hop heavyweight shunned the fast food places for trying to dig into vegan consumers’ pockets and encouraged those types of customers to seek out alternative options.
“McDonalds, Burger King, And Taco Bell Yall foul for trying to make vegan food. Do not eat that sh*t find a great vegan spot near you, not a commercial fast food place, or get groceries and cook it yourself, also grow your own food to cook. Love y’all 💜” -NLE Choppa’s Twitter
Summer Walker’s Vegan PSA
In summer 2018, R&B crooner Summer Walker admitted she had dealt with an uphill battle going vegan. She made a desperate plea on social media in an effort to resist going back to the opposite of plant-based food.
“PSA. I need a vegan chef who is like literally amazing in LA and I need them to come save me and rescue me because I’m about to give up on my vegan journey. It’s nasty as h*ll, it’s disgusting, it’s miserable. I don’t know who lied to y’all and said it’s good because it’s not. And if somebody doesn’t give me a vegan meal that is properly seasoned and tastes delicious, I’m just gonna be a fat, chicken-eating, grease-slurping – I don’t want, we don’t need to talk about it, I don’t want to go there. Somebody please tag them. LA vegan chef. Please Lord, help me, save me.”
