The ‘Lay It Down’ anthem is way bigger than just a one-day drop

While the music video is low-key vital, it’s all about embracing the audio quality of this tune. Dream sets the tone but with TRY and Jay1 linked up, every digital angle of this song hits.

Pushing the boundaries of music, innovative electronic duo TRY debut their new track "Lay It Down" featuring DreamDoll and Jay1, which showcases a seamless fusion of genres. Their genre-blurring sound has recently seen them with a string of heavy-hitting collaborators, including the likes of EARTHGANG and Mikky Ekko, and more.

Starting strong, TRY introduces a low, reverberating bassline, intertwined with complex rhythmic textures and layered vocal embellishments in the background. Dreamdoll eases in with her smooth rap flow before seamlessly passing the mic to Jay1, who demonstrates his sharp wordplay with his deep, magnetic vocals. Engaging in a lyrical back-and-forth, the two echo the lyrics “lay it down” like a hypnotic chant. The track showcases the individual talents of each collaborator along with their collective ability to create an engaging narrative, underlined by a catchy, repetitive mantra.

Comprised of Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and songwriter Sam i (formerly of hip-hop duo N.A.S.A.) and Nashville production and songwriting vanguard Shmuck The Loyal, TRY emerged when the duo decided to start merging their respective creative strengths to form a new musical outfit. Prior to

this release, TRY made waves with their debut EP, "Chapter One," released in 2022. Amassing almost half a million streams on Spotify alone, this EP is a testament to their burgeoning popularity and the resonance of their sound with audiences. "Chapter One" laid down a formidable foundation for TRY, setting a high bar for their creative output and establishing a distinct sonic identity. With plans to release more chapters of their project, TRY continues to explore and push the boundaries of their sound, promising their audience a continually evolving and immersive listening experience.
