Young Thug's 'Punk' raged all the way to No. 1

Atlanta rapper Young Thug is far from a rocker but he powered all the way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The hip-hop superstar’s newest studio effort easily bodied its competition on the competitive list.

Young Thug really bodied everyone with ‘Punk’

Kevin Liles is big proud of Young Thug’s achievement

300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles knows how much of an achievement this is for both YT and the label. He’s since dished on Thugger’s latest career achievement.

“Artist development and evolution are the biggest forms of currency in the sustainability and relevancy of an artist in the entertainment industry. Young Thug’s undeniable dedication, vision, and relentless work ethic are unmatched and show how much he has doubled down on his artistry. I’m proud of Young Thug for not only checking the boxes, but creating his own space outside of the box. Though we have been by Young Thug’s side for eight years, his two number one albums in one year is only the beginning of his story.”

Young Thug delivered such an epic ‘SNL’ performance + then some

Thugger isn’t just dropping bars on albums. He recently killed it on a recent “Saturday Night Live” broadcast with multiple performances.

Young Thug’s Back + Packing Steady Heat

Thugger recently talked about the motivation behind piecing together his newest album. Thug dished on the LP’s realness and authenticity for fueling its concept.

Punk is just real life stories. The whole album is purified. It’s just real,” he said. “The whole album is just focused on one point. The hard part about this shit is making 12, 14, 16 songs about one thing, without crossing up and saying the same thing. That is why this sh*t takes time. This shit has been going on for two years now.” (Complex)
