Atlanta rapper Young Thug is far from a rocker but he powered all the way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The hip-hop superstar’s newest studio effort easily bodied its competition on the competitive list.

In an unstoppable run this year, Young Thug earns his second #1 album of 2021 as PUNK debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. PUNK, released via Young Stoner Life/300 Entertainment, is Thug’s second album release of the year, following his and Young Stoner Life Records’ compilation album Slime Language 2, which also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in April 2021. ”Punk is just real life stories. The whole album is purified. It’s just real,” he said. “The whole album is just focused on one point. The hard part about this shit is making 12, 14, 16 songs about one thing, without crossing up and saying the same thing. That is why this sh*t takes time.
