An artist of diverse talents, Ambition The Kid is most often recognized from his time as the lead singer in Multi-Platinum R&B group, Pretty Ricky. Now a rising star as a solo artist, he is set to make his mark with his Country crossover, “Saddle Me Up”.
Ambition The Kid, born Chris J. Meyers, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a knack for music and dancing. He and two friends founded a vocal group called Ambition, which he later adopted as his own moniker as a show of respect after the group disbanded. He began working with musicians in Artist Development, including as a choreographer for a local group. That group’s manager was so impressed with Ambition’s talent that he pitched the young artist to Pretty Ricky, who had just lost their lead singer. Blown away by his voice, as well as his moves and writing chops, the group offered him the job.
Based out of Miami, the group received critical acclaim and was featured in several magazines including Vibe, Right On, and The Beat. They produced several music videos including “Knocking Boots”, which hit #1 on the 106 & Park Top 10 countdown for 10 weeks straight. However, because of creative differences, Ambition removed himself from the group.
Now a solo artist, Ambition embraces the opportunity to share his true talents through his creative writing, mesmerizing voice, charismatic dancing and captivating live performances. On his latest single, “Saddle Me Up”, he mixes R&B, Pop, and Country sounds that have received critical acclaim from fans and media alike.
