Nigerian recording artist Asake releases a brand-new song and music video, “2:30”, produced by Magicsticks (Oxlade, Joeboy) and BlaiseBeatz (Kizz Daniel, CKay). Shot in Los Angeles, the video was directed by Edgar Esteves (Lil Baby, Russ) with styling by Raya Khaled. The song and video are a celebration of authenticity and individuality, about embracing one’s true self and recognizing the value that comes from one’s roots. “2:30” will feature on Asake’s forthcoming full-length project, out later this year.
“2:30” comes on the heels of Asake making his late-night TV debut on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month, watch his vibrant performance HERE. Most recently, Asake joined Davido on the track “NO COMPETITION”, featured on his new album Timeless, released last week. Also this year, Asake joined Olamide and Fireboy DML at EMPIRE’s San Francisco studio as part of their Africa Writing Camp, spending days “creating the next generation of records that will continue spreading the movement across the globe”, according to Billboard who documented the experience. “2:30” was completed at the camp.
