Roc Nation: The Roc and Paper Planes' Great(her) Together is fully motivational

We’ve known this forever but my goodness if women don’t run the world. Roc Nation and Paper Planes’ new Great(her) Together video piece really comes at a solid time fresh from Women’s History Month by showcasing some talented ladies talking about their love for the music biz.

The new ‘Pass the Aux’ is a collection of stories putting the spotlight on the obstacles still existing in today’s music industry with underrepresented women. But it takes things further by pushing for unity and dreams coming true with the celebration of female peers uplifting each other through some pretty powerful stories.

Highlights from the discussion include:

●     V-Ron recounts a memory that still follows her of interacting with an artist manager who questioned her expertise and authority as a producer. In the video she retells her experience enduring comments about her physical stature and even being challenged to “play something” to prove she was hired to do the job

●     Ambré recalls a session she had with Kelly Rowland and the feelings of disregard she experienced with other writers in the room

●     Jenna shares her experience of walking into a room to fix the technical failures of the studio gear and not only being underestimated for her engineering experience, but being mistaken for an assistant who was supposed to run the artist group coffee.

●     Maeta describes the cornerstone moment where a passionate discovery of a fellow female icon helped define her dream to become an artist at just 9 years old

The candid roundtable serves as a stark reminder that the uphill battle women and women of color face in the music space transcend beyond just Women’s History Month in March. The content piece also arrives ahead of Ambre’s headlining tour kicking off this Sunday, and Maeta’s special appearance on MTV’s Fresh Out Live! this Friday.
