Cory Gunz is a multi-platinum-selling recording artist who is best known for delivering iron-clad East Coast bars. Gunz got his start in the music industry at age 14, by inking a deal with Tommy Mottola at Casablanca Records and Def Jam Recordings. Jay-Z then shepherded him into a joint venture through The Island Def Jam Music Group. Soon after, Gunz was on the remix of Rihanna's single "If It's Lovin' That You Want." The album comes after Poppa’s dealing with depression where rekindling his relationship with God got him through and in the booth. He came to terms with where he is in life and started penning songs across a variety of sounds, to show the industry that he can hold his own with the best. Often an orator for life on the streets, it was important to him to feature fellow Jacksonville artists to the booth for this new project, too. Spinabenz, another immensely popular rapper from the same neighborhood, is someone who Poppa thinks deserves the spotlight as well because of his talent — so he’s on the LP providing that hometown connection.
One of the most emotional songs on the project is “Letter To Jook,” a track to a close friend and mentor who motivated him never to quit. He called Poppa frequently to check on him and inspire him to keep rapping. His presence inspires the whole project, but is specifically called out on the track.
That’s not to say that the entire album is centered around sentimentality. There’s a full spectrum of songs here, with some featuring more of a club bounce, and others that you usually don’t hear Popparap in. He’s excited about this new effort and the evolution of his artistry that’ll be on display to his growing fanbase that already consists of millions of fans.

The sexy drill impresario prepares for his highly-anticipated next album, Sex Drive, by sharing "u got fans!," his new single and video. Built on a breezy sample that layers 80s keyboard tones over high-octane drill percussion and rubbery 808s, "u got fans!" finds Chowbella romancing a seemingly unattainable woman, who has dozens of admirers in her IG comments and a steady man. The rapper empties his bag of tricks, offering an unceasing barrage of pick-up lines and clearing those obstacles with aplomb. In the video, Chow collects his favorite models in remote house, where he sponsors their online activities and encourages them to practice their pole dancing.
"u got fans!" is a taste of the kind of breezy late-summer jams fans can expect from Sex Drive, Chow's anticipated follow-up to last year's Hours After The Club. The track, released earlier this month, was produced by A$AP Rocky and co-produced by Hitkidd, Zach Fogarty, Greg Kurstin, Jordan Patrick, Rex Kudo. The single features vocals by the incredible Jessica Pratt with GRAMMY® Award winning Jon Batiste on background vocals.
