All in Date Night or Nahhh...
It’s a no-brainer, in 2023 Tom Cruise can still put together must-see action-packed blockbusters. Need proof? Just look at the hype and excitement surrounding the upcoming Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One flick. With the global premiere officially in the books, it’s time to geek out over some mind-blowing event snapshots showing off the entire cast and crew.
While we’ll be waiting for a minute before Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ season two arrives, it’s clear the hype is only going to build from now moving forward with cast members officially being announced.
Marvel Studios isn’t slowing down - at all. While it feels like an eternity before October arrives, the genius strategy of putting out the new Kraven The Hunter flick around the release date of Spider-Man 2 - when we’re introduced to Kraven The Hunger, too? Insanely smart.
Confession? I actually saw the last Paw Patrol movie in theaters. Yup - I can’t lie. Context is definitely needed but for the purpose of keeping things moving, let’s put the focus on the fact another big screen journey is on deck in the form of The Mighty Movie.
Don’t get me wrong - I know the huge moneymaker for Marvel Studios has always been the box office hits and crushing the global sales but my goodness - the hype and excitement surrounding the upcoming Secret Invasion? Can we just blink our eyes and make it June 21 already?
It’s all about perspective so either you’re super blown away by the idea of the Bird Box franchise coming back or you’re high-key concerned Netflix is running out of originality and trying to cash-in on something that’ll make those stocks go up, right? Fortunately for Date Night or Nahhh…. all you have to worry about is if this is worthy of calling up bae and setting up a Date Night at home - spoiler alert? Definitely.
The new Expendables 4 movie is definitely going to be like watching All Elite Wrestling. Some of your all-time favorite action stars from the 80’s and 90’s suiting back up? Well - let’s just say younger generations might low-key cringe while the older heads know this is a definite must-see with bae.
Must-see, much? Look - I am always going to push for watching movies for Date Night-approved outings and even crashing at home but there’s really something special about excellent shows - notably the drama mixed with comedy ones - so of course there’s a massive need to plug Apple TV+’s ‘The Afterparty’ season two gearing up to premiere in the coming weeks.
You either get it or you really get it - Transformers is about the culture and the franchise has decades of fandom to embarrass any overnight franchise trying to get a portion of the attention Megatron and Optimus Prime have sparked. But all those personal vibes to the side, we’re hours away from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts transforming into must-see big screen fun and seeing the final trailer? Holy smokes.
Who wants to wait until June 16 to see the new Elemental movie? Even better - why wait when you can secure early movie screenings in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles?
I’ve said it in the past and I will continue to promise you - horror movies are always going to have the biggest success rate in positive date nights. Comedies can spark super cringe laughing sounds from you or bae, action movies can often go overboard and let’s face it - what person wants to shed tears - unexpectedly - alongside bae during a drama? Leave it to the Blumhouse geniuses to bring fear back to theaters with Insidious: The Red Door and this final trailer? Holy. Smokes.
Scary much? You bet. The newest Talk To Me trailer has me seriously ready to hop on Bumble and specifically go right-swiping for movie-going women - preferably with an AMC A-list membership, too. Scary. Wild. Mind-blowing. The newest teaser for the upcoming A24 flick has Date Night written all over.
What better way to get into a back to school state of mind than watching the ultimate hooky flick of all-time in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Oh - how about watching it in 4K Ultra HD? You bet. This is an all-time classic and for all you boo’d up folks around the globe, this is a super certified Date Night-approved flick.
It feels like forever until August 2 comes around but with a summer filled with blockbusters, it’s only right the hype for Seth Rogen’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mayhem Mayhem gets crazy. So of course seeing the final trailer is either going to push you fully into wanting to check it out or have you saying it’s a digital at-home viewing at best.
Science fiction can always be a slippery slope when dealing with date night scenarios but when talking about ‘Black Mirror’ as a whole? It’s a definite must-see and solid franchise which always delivers - so of course gearing up for a June 15 premiere with 5 new films, too? Holy. Smokes.
The summer of blockbuster flicks is upon us and what better way to geek out over the line-up of fire than seeing some behind the scenes content from the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts flick?
It’s 2023 and the year of classic movies are only heating up. So of course it’s only right for the classic The Color Purple getting a revisited look and presentation for the new generations with some super familiar and famous faces gracing the big screen.
For the record, the most I have ever done in my life in the world of cannabis is CBD foods, oils and liquids along with - of course - second-hand inhaling at practically every single hip-hop concert I have attended since 16. So when the opportunity came to check out and review A Golden State, with just one whiff - and, er, hit - it was immediately evident why this is the leading premium cannabis brand in California - quite soon the world?
Just because it’s a blockbuster flick doesn’t mean it’s a Date Night movie but add in Tom Cruise, a star-studded cast and the right balance of action and storyline? Easy contender for asking bae what’s the status for a date night to see Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.
Freaking Date Night-approved and I’m only 42 seconds into the trailer! Yup - I used a big exclamation point right there because it feels like forever since seeing Hollywood superstar John David Washington back on the big screen and in an action-packed flick centered on A.I. taking over the world called The Creator? Holy smokes.
