Busta Rhymes & Young Thug: It's a massive 'Free Thugger' vibe with the 'OK' music video

Is there any slowing down Busta Rhymes these days? The hip-hop veteran continues to push forward and comes through with a hard-hitting ‘OK’ music video featuring a CGI-created Young Thug - yup, Thugger - and Cool & Dre.

Busta Rhymes teams with Young Thug for their ‘OK’ music video

It’s wild to see how far technology has come proving while Thugger continues to fight for his freedom from behind bars, his presence is still felt more than ever with Busta’s newest visual.

Busta Rhymes, never one to shy away from leaning into his creative curiosities, flaunts his unique approach yet again with the arrival of the latest music video off his 2023 album Blockbusta, “OK” f/ Young Thug. The video, directed by Busta Rhymes himself and Gaudens Zulu is now available.

OK” is one of the standout records on Busta’s latest studio album, BLOCKBUSTA, released in November 2023, and continues to be one of the LP’s highest-streamed songs on Spotify. Appropriately, Busta arrives with a truly unique video and a first time ever visual experience which again propels himself and the legacy of his work to another groundbreaking level for the song “OK” and his incredible 10th solo album BLOCKBUSTA.

The mini movie begins with a CGI version of Young Thug, clad in an eccentric outfit as one can expect from the real-life Thugger, rapping his enthralling verse as AI in a virtual desert environment. He delivers a magnetizing performance.  Busta Rhymes enters the frame, in regal fashion, sturdy and as poised, effortlessly unleashing earth-shattering lyrics with a knifing flow that fans have come to expect from the rap legend.

“OK” is the latest of BLOCKBUSTA’S standout records to receive a cinematic accompaniment. Busta’s collaboration with BIA, “Beach Ball,” was granted a movie esque visual; the pair also performed the record live at the 2023 BET Awards. The Coi Leray-featured “Luxury Life” and “Big Everything,” which features DaBaby and T-Pain, have also received short films to this point, generating over 30 million views combined.

Busta Rhymes, considered one of the greatest rap artists of all-time and a pioneer in both the Hip Hop and general music spaces, is a 12-time GRAMMY nominee, a testament to his longevity and influence. In 2023, he was a pivotal part of Hip Hop’s celebration of its 50th anniversary, contributing to tributes at the Grammy, Awards, BET Awards, where he also received the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, and Good Morning America, among many others.
