French Montana shows off his acting chops with Canada Dry
Bad Boy Records’ French Montana knows it’s way deeper than rap. The hip-hop superstar has teamed up with soda giant Canada Dry for an epic collaboration and even features big assists from longtime friend/producer Harry Fraud and director James Larese.
French Montana teams up with Canada Dry
Seemingly out of nowhere, Canada Dry announced the partnership with Montana for their ‘Big Comfy’ - a playful take on why at-home goals is low-key the most comfy way of spending your late night goals.
Directed by James Larese and scored by Montana’s longtime friend Harry Fraud, the spoof video introduces a cheeky Montana as an infomercial actor advertising the most comfortable lime green fur slippers that nobody can resist. Transforming the infomercial into a dreamy glimpse of an at-home ‘Montana party’, he raps “I’m drinkin’ my Canada Dry, I’m cozy with shorty I ain’t comin’ outside. She said, ‘What's the craziest thing you’ve done in your life?’ I told her, ``Watch a whole series in one night.”
On the couch, like it’s a club on a Friday night, Montana’s only accompanied by his girlfriend (Montana’s brother, Ayoub Kharbouch, also makes a cameo) and a distinct, bubbling green can of his favorite soft drink, Canada Dry Ginger Ale.
French Montana and Canada Dry hype up the collabo
Both French Montana and Canada Dry’s executive team have geeked out over the collaboration. The New York rap heavyweight even spoke on how much it meant to partner up with the iconic beverage brand.
“It’s been so legendary to bring my creative vision to life in this collaboration with Canada Dry,” said French Montana. “A night in wouldn’t be the same without a comfy robe, slippers, and Canada Dry Ginger Ale by my side…that’s what we call a MONTANA PARTY.”
As a creator and forward-thinker in today’s culture, Montana offers a refreshing spin on the beverage brand’s outlook with the “Big Comfy” partnership fusing Canada Dry, music, and satire seamlessly. This collaboration follows the artist’s recent debut in crypto with the Metaverse project in partnership with Radio Caca and Coke Boys LA Sneaker paired with NFTs. Most recently, Montana made a guest appearance and title track “If I Go Down” in the film National Champions, teased an upcoming single with Dominican recording-artist El Alfa, and released his fourth studio album They Got Amnesia.
Derek Dabrowski, VP, Brand Marketing, said of the campaign, "Canada Dry has been a fan favorite for years, and the brand's continuous growth is a testament to that. The collaboration with French Montana will remind audiences everywhere the joys of staying in and finding comfort by unwinding with Canada Dry."
