Myaap & Chicken P: It's turn up vibes only with the 'Actin Up' anthem streaming everywhere

Forget the slow jams, summer is around the corner and spring break vibes are going stronger than ever. So what better way to get caught up in the moment than turning up with Myaap and Chicken P’s new ‘Actin Up’ anthem? Say less.

Myaap and Chicken P get to ‘Acting Up’ with their new single

It’s a new single type of vibe but it’s way bigger than a single day drop. The duo’s new tune demands your attention and movement into the summer days and beyond.

Myaap, the woman leading the charge of Milwaukee’s burgeoning rap scene, has just shared her new single “Actin Up” (feat. Chicken P). The track arrives on the heels of Myaap wrapping up a stint on the second leg of Veeze’s Ganger Tour, and her recently-released EP BIG MYAAP, NOT THE LIL ONE, which found The FADER hailing her as “a force to be reckoned with, effortlessly switching between melodic hooks and uncut bars”. While Milwaukee's Rap scene has existed for decades, it has long been an unsung hero in the eyes of the mainstream, existing (and thriving) in the shadow of much larger, more prominent metropolitan heavy-weights.

Truly Midwestern in its fusion of subcultures, it exists at the crossroads of America: Southern in its influences, Eastern in its sentiments, and undeniably West Coast in the celebration of carefree jouissance. Myaap stands at the cutting edge of her city's cultural moment, continually lending herself to the foray of TikTok virality and forward-thinking sonics, backed by her viral phenomenon “Getting to It”, which sampled ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”, as well as other party-ready tracks like “Wham'' and “Party Crackin" (3M+ Streams) that showcase her fiery energy and captivating wordplay.’’

Defined by bouncy, frenetic production and Myaap’s signature insistent flow, “Actin Up”(feat. Chicken P) is a high-energy outing. Led by a nostalgic flip of Soulja Boy’s 2007 hit “Booty Meat”, an irresistible hook (“Real P bitch, you know what’s Up / Throw this ass back, he tryna cuff”), and bolstered by a strong assist from fellow Milwaukee artist Chicken P, “Actin Up” is a club-ready anthem that arrives just in time for summer. It follows up her latest EP BIG MYAAP, NOT THE LIL ONE, which found her solidifying the spot she's carved out for herself by continuing to infuse her region's scene with danceable raps and upbeat energy –– continuing her rapid ascension and trendsetting knack. Despite releasing her first track only a year ago, Myaap has quickly garnered a cult-like following, accumulating over 6 Million streams for the bass-heavy sound that’s become synonymous with Myaap – combining Southern bounce with more contemporary sounds coming out of the Chicago and Detroit street rap scenes. With her new single  "Actin Up” (feat. Chicken P) out now, Myaap is keeping the party going, continuing to put on for her city and gearing up to drop more music later this year.
