Pizza Hut: Underground subway station deliveries legit happened with 'TMNT: Mutant Mayhem' on deck
What’s the best way to get excited about the new TMNT: Mutant Mayhem movie hitting theaters August 2? How about Pizza Hut geeking out with an insanely cool underground deliveries in a New York City subway station campaign? Radical!
Pizza Hut is ready for the new TMNT movie, too
All it took was a random poster encouraging people to text over a turtle emoji and in exchange Pizza Hut grub was delivered right to them, as if they were one of the iconic crime-fighting characters. Needless to say, if you’re reading this it’s too late - the epic test has since ended.
Pizza Hut and the upcoming feature film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem are uniting for an undeniably radical collaboration. In honor of the film hitting theatres nationwide on August 2, Pizza Hut is reaching new heights – or depths, rather – by testing “Underground Deliveries” for a limited-time only in New York City.
With the fictional home of the Ninja Turtles being in an abandoned subway station, it was only fitting for the Underground Deliveries test to take place at a local New York City subway station. Select pizza lovers in Manhattan experienced an underground delivery by texting the Turtle Emoji to a dedicated hotline number which then placed an order for Pizza Hut pizza. Once ordered, Pizza Hut promptly prepared and delivered the piping hot pizza within minutes directly to the marked “Pizza Drop Zone” within the subway station.
It’s more than just underground deliveries from Pizza Hut. The franchise even has a game branded toward TMNT and pizza, of course.
In addition to its iconic Underground Delivery test, Pizza Hut is unveiling a handful of other exciting elements to its partnership with the TMNT film including a Pizza Power Mobile AR Game, specialty mutant mayhem themed pizza boxes, co-branded TV ads and cameos within the film coming out on August 2.
