Power Book IV: Force's Anthony Fleming III and Lucien Cambric can't wait for Feb 6 premiere (Exclusive)

The long-awaited premiere for ‘Power Book IV: Force’ is finally here! In celebration for the must-see series and latest edition to the franchise STARZ executives Courtney A. Kemp and 50 Cent have created, Attack The Culture had the exclusive opportunity to connect with standout cast members Anthony Fleming III and Lucien Cambric to dish on the new series.

From talking about Chicago’s culture getting a full-fledged spotlight to their first encounters with what ‘Power’ is all about, Anthony and Lucien give their real and honest excitement about the ‘Power Universe’ expanding to their hometown.

When was your intro to the ‘Power Universe’ - was it back in 2014 or was it with the ‘Power Book’ spin-offs? What was your intro to this whole ‘Power’ craziness?

Anthony: It was probably around season three. I didn’t really watch the show before that but I’ve known Joe Sikora for 20 years. He’s from Chicago, I’m from Chicago. We’ve worked together here in Chicago. We came up together in theater. I knew ‘of’ the show and then I just started kind of watching it more and more and then when I got cast, it was all about marathoning the show and I love it.

Lucien: Me and my family have been watching it since 2014. Back then I was in high school so me and my family would watch it every Sunday morning. We’d watch every show. We’ve been watching it since the first episode.

Just from the premiere episode, we see so many landmarks and it just seems like Chicago culture more than anything is going to be embraced more than anything with this series.

Anthony: Oh man, most definitely. I’m a son of Chicago. I’m from there, I live there currently and to see my city repped like this with a show like this is amazing. They say Chicago is a city that both fills your heart and breaks your heart at the same time and we’re definitely going to find that as we see the next movement of Tommy Egan.

Lucien: Chicago is the perfect place. I feel like Chicago is the perfect place to film the show ‘Power’ because of the vibes and the energy of the show matches the energy of Chicago. I’m from Chicago so I love that they put the city on and it’s opening a lot of doors for the people that live here.

What about the music as well? I want to tell you guys, I want to be a little bias because I love Lil Durk and Jeremih but the intro might be the best ‘Power’ intro we’ve had thus far. But even in the first episode we have Vic Mensa, his music is on there. Do you guys embrace having such an amazing soundtrack and 50 Cent behind the scenes as well?

Anthony: Most definitely. Music in Chicago is huge. Music is a big influence in our city and it’s diverse, too. It’s not just hip-hop in the show. As we get deeper into the show, we see a lot of different genres of music and they all work and they all fit and they all help to elevate and tell our story.

Lucien: I couldn’t agree any more. Music is such a big part about Chicago culture and for them to put Chicago artists on the theme song is incredible. It’s an honor.

Check out the full video below and find out what both Anthony and Lucien hope fans take away the most from the premiere ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premiere episode through this new series’ wild journey. And reminder, the show premieres Sunday, February 6 exclusively on STARZ.
