New York rap icons Fat Joe and Diddy are doing more than music in 2022. The hip-hop powerhouses have teamed up for a new pilot slated to go down at STARZ and even has connections to NBA living god Lebron James.
Fat Joe and Diddy are headed to STARZ
Details are still coming together but it looks like Joey Crack and Puff Daddy’s new project will center on interviewing fellow celebrities and digging deep into their lives.
STARZ announced today it will be producing a pilot for an untitled genre-busting series that blends interviews with celebrities and high-profile guests with an elevated documentary style format. Grammy-nominated recording artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist Fat Joe will serve as host and executive producer with Sean “Diddy” Combsattached to executive produce with his production company REVOLT Studios. SpringHill's multi-Emmy award winning studio division, founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, will produce the pilot as well.
“We’re about to create the biggest and most culturally-relevant series on television,” Fat Joe said. “With Puff, LeBron, the incredible team at STARZ and myself teaming up, you have a dream team that is guaranteed to produce TV gold. Hosting a show has always been a dream of mine and I’m thankful for everyone who helped make it a reality. I promise you that we’re going to push the envelope, deliver compelling interviews and provide pure entertainment. Do remember - you don’t know who I know!”
“I’m excited to partner with STARZ and bring these cultural giants together to create the No. 1 show on television,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Fat Joe is a very authentic and respected voice in the culture that deserves a platform to bring these important conversations to a global audience on a major network.”
“Time and time again, Fat Joe has delivered outstanding, insightful interviews with legendary personalities who define the zeitgeist, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the STARZ family,” said Kathryn Busby, President, Original Programming, STARZ. “Fat Joe, Sean Combs and LeBron James are inspirational icons, and we can’t wait to get started on this incredible journey.”
The series marks the culmination of the Bronx’s native’s evolution into becoming a media personality. In March 2020, Joe launched “The Fat Joe Show,” a nightly Instagram Live talk-show where he interviewed politicians, musicians, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs and influential personalities such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Floyd Mayweather, Dwyane Wade, Jamie Foxx and Alicia Keys, among several others and the platform quickly blossomed into a news-breaking engine.
Over the years, Joe expanded his hosting repertoire, serving as a guest host for “The Wendy Williams Show” on multiple occasions and hosting the official recap for Triller’s renowned VERZUZ platform over the past year.
The pilot will be produced by SpringHill for STARZ with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron serving as executive producers. Senior Vice President, Head of Unscripted Programming, Alice Dickens-Koblin will oversee the project on behalf of STARZ.

Samanta Morton was born for STARZ's new The Serpent Queen series
STARZ is putting up a lot of serious content lately. We already know the power of the ‘Power Universe’ in all of those ‘Power Book’ shows but with must-see content like ‘Shining Vale’ and ‘P-Valley,’ it’s safe to say there’s programming for everyone - especially with a unique spin on Catherine de Medici in its upcoming ‘The Serpent Queen.’
It’s not your standard period piece
Let’s keep it 100 - if you’ve loved shows like ‘American Gods,’ you know STARZ is going to come correct with a show based on subject matter you might be hesitant about but then become instantly sucked into based on immaculate directing, an excellent cast and presentation. The same is 100 percent true with ‘The Serpent Queen.’
The new series stars Golden Globe® winner, two-time Academy Award® and two-time BAFTA Award-nominated actress, Samantha Morton (Minority Report, "Harlots," "The Walking Dead"), as the nefarious Catherine de Medici, who, against all odds, became one of themost powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history.
“The Serpent Queen” premieres Sunday, September 11 at midnight on theSTARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms and internationally on the STARZPLAY premium streaming platform across all territories. On linear, it will debut on STARZ at 8:00 ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.
It’s all about the contemporary approach
A bit throwback but if you remember the epic 90’s version of Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, then you can appreciate the modern or contemporary twist on things. The same - once again - is true with ‘The Serpent Queen.’
A historical drama with an edge, “The Serpent Queen” puts a contemporary spin on conventional storytelling to tell the tale of Catherine de Medici’s (Morton) rise to power. In the series premiere, “Medici Bitch,” Catherine’s tale unfolds through flashbacks as she defends her actions and imparts the lessons she’s learned to her new servant confident, Rahima (Sennia Nanua, The Girl with All the Gifts, Frankie). At 14, the young, orphaned Catherine (Liv Hill, “Three Girls,” Jellyfish) marries into the 16th-century French court. Despite her commoner status, her uncle Pope Clement (Charles Dance, “Game of Thrones,” “The Crown”), has negotiated a large dowry and a geopolitical alliance in return for the union, and with it comes the expectation of many heirs. However, on her wedding night, Catherine learns that her new husband is in love with Diane de Poitiers (Ludivine Sagnier, “Lupin,” “The Young Pope”), a beautiful lady-in-waiting twice his age.
With her future suddenly uncertain and with little hope of conceiving, Catherine must quickly learn who she can trust - both within her personal entourage of courtiers and the members of the royal court - while outmaneuvering anyone who underestimates her determination to survive at any cost.
The ‘Serpent Queen’ cast is stacked
Of course the attention will remain on the amazing Samantha Morton but get excited about the full line-up slated to share on-screen time with the international star.
The series also stars Colm Meaney (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” Tolkien), Kiruna Stamell (“The New Pope,” Moulin Rouge!), Barry Atsma (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, “Bad Banks”), Alex Heath (“Suspicion,” Boiling Point), Amrita Acharia (“Game of Thrones,” “TheGood Karma Hospital”), Enzo Cilenti, (Free Fire, “The Last Tycoon”),Antonia Clarke (Anna, Magic in the Moonlight), Adam Garcia (Coyote Ugly, Murder on the Orient Express), Beth Goddard (“Manhunt,” “Des”), Raza Jaffrey (“Homeland,” “Code Black”), Ray Panthaki (“Away,” Colette), Nicholas Burns (Emma, “Harlots”), Danny Kirrane (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, “Don’t Forget the Driver”), and Rupert Everett (My Best Friend’s Wedding, “Adult Material”).
"The Serpent Queen" is based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda and is from writer and executive producer Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road, Red Sparrow, The Lone Ranger). Stacie Passon (“Transparent,” “Dickinson,” “Billions”) directs multiple episodes, including the premiere episode and serves as executive producer. The series is executive produced by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2) and Erwin Stoff (The Matrix, 13 Hours, Edge of Tomorrow). The eight-episode series is produced for STARZ by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Stay tuned for more updates and in the meantime start the countdown to September 11.

Sorry ‘Power’ and ‘American Gods’ but it’s really all about the ‘P-Valley’ craze right about now. The must-see series has officially returned and the numbers aren’t lying - the growth in popularity and viewers is record-breaking.
P-Valley is doing huge numbers already
Hardly into the new season, the viewers for its highly-anticipated return last weekend proves it’s easily one of the best shows on STARZ - if not ‘the’ best right now.
Based on early reporting, STARZ’s critically-acclaimed drama “P-Valley” was up 1,018% from its series debut on the STARZ app, setting a record as the largest season over season growth in the streamer’s history.
With several platforms yet to report and additional territories globally to debut the series, it drew 4.5 million multiplatform viewers2 for its season two premiere weekend in the U.S. alone. The hit series, which premiered its second season on June 3, drove record subscription growth with the highest number of acquisitions in three years making it one of the best-performing series of all time.
The sophomore season, which fans have been clamoring for since its season one debut in 2020, from creator, executive producer and Pulitzer Prize-winner Katori Hall, also ranks as the most socially-engaged primetime drama over the premiere weekend across all networks.
The STARZ executives know they have one
The folks behind the scenes know ‘P-Valley’ is a game-changer for the network. Both STARZ head Alison Hoffman and creator Katori Hall have dished on the series’ immediate impact upon its return.
“Katori and the entire ‘P-Valley’ team have done an amazing job bringing audiences a second season that has delivered record-setting viewer performance and subscription growth, and through its incredible storytelling has continued driving cultural conversation and critical acclaim,” said Alison Hoffman, President, Domestic Networks at STARZ. “The series exemplifies our commitment to amplifying narratives by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences, and we are so proud of its continued success.”
Hall said of her show’s success, "Our Pynk Posse showed up and showed out! The incredible response to season two feels like such a gift after the challenging pause of these past few years, but we're back and we're just getting started y'all. I am bursting with pride seeing the Pynk Posse grow and watching the sense of community and family that forms as we bring this new season to the world. Hearing from viewers that they have felt seen, heard and celebrated is exactly what everyone working on the show hoped for. Being able to showcase our community's resilience has been so meaningful and rewarding, and I can’t wait for y'all to come on down to the valley to see the rest of what we have in store.”
The season two expecations
It’s more than just pole dancing for season two. The series takes a deep dive into personal issues, relationships and - most notably - how the real-world COVID-19 pandemic has impacted fan favorites and all characters.
Season two reveals a whole new Pynk as it struggles to remain open during a pandemic, a battle for the throne, and the possibility of some new blood shaking up the locker room. This season takes audiences deeper into the lives of the Pynk’s beloved characters as darkness descends upon Chucalissa.

From talking about Chicago’s culture getting a full-fledged spotlight to their first encounters with what ‘Power’ is all about, Anthony and Lucien give their real and honest excitement about the ‘Power Universe’ expanding to their hometown.
When was your intro to the ‘Power Universe’ - was it back in 2014 or was it with the ‘Power Book’ spin-offs? What was your intro to this whole ‘Power’ craziness?
Anthony: It was probably around season three. I didn’t really watch the show before that but I’ve known Joe Sikora for 20 years. He’s from Chicago, I’m from Chicago. We’ve worked together here in Chicago. We came up together in theater. I knew ‘of’ the show and then I just started kind of watching it more and more and then when I got cast, it was all about marathoning the show and I love it.
Lucien: Me and my family have been watching it since 2014. Back then I was in high school so me and my family would watch it every Sunday morning. We’d watch every show. We’ve been watching it since the first episode.
Just from the premiere episode, we see so many landmarks and it just seems like Chicago culture more than anything is going to be embraced more than anything with this series.
Anthony: Oh man, most definitely. I’m a son of Chicago. I’m from there, I live there currently and to see my city repped like this with a show like this is amazing. They say Chicago is a city that both fills your heart and breaks your heart at the same time and we’re definitely going to find that as we see the next movement of Tommy Egan.
Lucien: Chicago is the perfect place. I feel like Chicago is the perfect place to film the show ‘Power’ because of the vibes and the energy of the show matches the energy of Chicago. I’m from Chicago so I love that they put the city on and it’s opening a lot of doors for the people that live here.
What about the music as well? I want to tell you guys, I want to be a little bias because I love Lil Durk and Jeremih but the intro might be the best ‘Power’ intro we’ve had thus far. But even in the first episode we have Vic Mensa, his music is on there. Do you guys embrace having such an amazing soundtrack and 50 Cent behind the scenes as well?
Anthony: Most definitely. Music in Chicago is huge. Music is a big influence in our city and it’s diverse, too. It’s not just hip-hop in the show. As we get deeper into the show, we see a lot of different genres of music and they all work and they all fit and they all help to elevate and tell our story.
Lucien: I couldn’t agree any more. Music is such a big part about Chicago culture and for them to put Chicago artists on the theme song is incredible. It’s an honor.
Check out the full video below and find out what both Anthony and Lucien hope fans take away the most from the premiere ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premiere episode through this new series’ wild journey. And reminder, the show premieres Sunday, February 6 exclusively on STARZ.
Power Book IV: Force's Gabrielle Ryan + Shane Harper love Joseph Sikora, reveal ‘Power’ intros + more (Exclusive)

The long-awaited premiere for ‘Power Book IV: Force’ is finally here! In celebration for the must-see series and latest edition to the franchise STARZ executives Courtney A. Kemp and 50 Cent have created, Attack The Culture had the exclusive opportunity to connect with Hollywood star cast members Gabrielle Ryan and Shane Harper to tease 'Power' fans about the new series.
From revealing their first introductions into the ‘Power Universe’ to dishing on just how much respect they have for Tommy Egan - er - Joseph Sikora plus keeping it 100 on having to go the intimate route with their characters, Gab and Shane hype up why ‘Power Book IV: Force’ is going to be must-watch TV.
Super cheesy and corny but I’ve gotta know, Gabrielle starting with you, what was your intro to the ‘Power’ craziness . Does it go back to season one in 2014 or was it with the spin-offs? When did you really realize, ‘Oh wow. This is a pretty amazing show.’
Gabrielle: I’ve been a fan since day one. I was a huge fan. Cliché, I was a huge Tommy fan. He’s my favorite. I’m definitely Team Tommy. I had a crush on him and knew it would be a dream world for me playing Gloria.
Shane: We’re 100 percent all fans first on this show, from the jump. I was working for STARZ on another show and I was like, ‘Man, ‘Power,’ that’s the flagship. That’s the one.’ I was loving working on that show and my character kind of had its arc and I was done with it. I was like, ‘Man, that would be cool to get back with STARZ on the gigantic flagship that is ‘Power’ so to get to do that now is very exciting.
We have to of course talk about Joseph. He’s a Chicago native. Gabrielle, being able to link up with someone that you were a fan of and of course, Shane, having to clash with him at least that’s how it looks right now. Beginning with you Shane, what’s it been like linking up with Joseph? Have you had a taste of Chicago? What’s the on-set chemistry been like?
Shane: The on-set chemistry is incredible. Obviously Joseph being a Chicago native, he has a total beat for the city and we were right away on the phone and he was talking to me about how the history of Chicago worked and how the history of the mobs in Chicago was working and all the stuff. He’s such a wealth of knowledge and he’s such an incredibly gifted actor and really dived deep, deep, deep. Right away, it was awesome to get to collab with him about all these different movements and things in the world.
Gabrielle: I am absolutely obsessed with Chicago. They were so wonderful and so welcoming. It is incredible. I don’t have enough good things to say about Chicago. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and I think that the Chicago natives are going to love all the Chicago aspects we bring to the show. As for Joseph and on-set [chemistry], he just seems like an incredible person and he’s an even more incredible actor and he literally, like Shane said, he’s a walking encyclopedia. He knows everything about Chicago and it was just wonderful shooting there and having all that chemistry that he brings with it. As an actor, he’s so giving.
In scenes, you don’t know what he’s going to do. He’s so unpredictable and it’s a testament to Joseph’s amazing acting skills and I never knew what he was going to do next. Even though you have the lines on the page, he’s so unpredictable that that’s just the dream to work with in a scene with somebody.
Just one more thing I have to throw at the both of you, we have to talk about the intimacy of Gabrielle, or Gloria I should say. We’ve already seen this with Lili [Simmons], I was joking with Tommy [Flanagan about seeing his character bare it all], going into that world, you’re a veteran at this but any shock value in this or is it just business as usual?
Gabrielle: For me or Shane? Because I’ve never done a sex scene before. Ever. That was my first intimate scene and the joke is that was my first day on set. So talk about going in with a bang!
Shane: Stay tuned. Yeah, yeah, yeah, stay tuned.
Check out the full video below to see Gabrielle Ryan and Shane Harper light up with Hollywood vibes and share some unforgettable laughs throughout the interview. ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premieres Sunday, February 6 exclusively on STARZ.
Here's a huge 'Power Book IV: Force' premiere episode sneak peek
As if you really needed more motivation and hype to get excited about the latest chapter in the ‘Power’ universe unfolding, the amazing folks at STARZ come through clutch with a huge sneak peek from this Sunday’s ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premiere.
As if you really needed more motivation and hype to get excited about the latest chapter in the ‘Power’ universe unfolding, the amazing folks at STARZ come through clutch with a huge sneak peek from this Sunday’s ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premiere.
Here’s a ‘Power Book IV: Force’ sneak peek
This sneak peek paints all types of pictures for the diehard ‘Power’ fans. The show’s star Joseph Sikora’s Tommy Egan character is alive and well but finds himself in a very dicey situation. Or possibly gearing up for a super dicey situation with something to do with the almighty Flynn family.
About the Flynn Family
Fortunately for all you loyal Attack The Culture heads out there, we have an inside scoop on the Flynn family so you don’t have to ponder until this Sunday to understand what the sneak peek is referring to. Both ‘Power Book IV: Force’ stars Lili Simmons and Tommy Flanagan spoke to ATC about why Tommy might be in over his head with the Flynn family.
Lili specifically warned ‘Power’ fans about preparing to see the Flynn crew in full action.
“The Flynn Family is a force to be reckoned with, no pun intended. I think Tommy has been saying this, they’ve been around for 30 years in Chicago so they’re obviously doing something right if they’re not dead. [My character] Claudia and [fictional brother] Vic have been taught by their father, they’ve been a part of this world their whole life so they know what’s going on. Tommy Egan coming, they see him from a mile away. You better watch out.”
Flanagan didn’t bite his tongue about the leader of the Flynn family taking charge in ‘Power Book IV: Force.’
“Walter Flynn and the whole family, like Lili said, they’ve been around so you don’t get into the position without knowing a thing or two. So for Tommy to show up and try and take over, it’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen. Good luck Tommy Egan. Welcome to f*cking Chicago, son.”
The rundown on the new ‘Power’ spin-off series
In case you’re still getting put on to what the latest ‘Power Book’ chapter is all about, we have the full rundown for you ahead of Sunday’s premiere.
“Power Book IV: Force” centers on fan-favorite character Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good. As Tommy leaves New York after losing Ghost, LaKeisha and the only city he's ever known, he makes a quick detour to close an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades. What was supposed to be a quick stop turns into a labyrinth of family secrets and lies Tommy thought were long buried. One step leads to another and Tommy quickly finds himself in Chicago's drug game, inserting himself between the city's two biggest crews. In a city divided by race, Tommy straddles the line, ultimately becoming the lynchpin that not only unites them - but holds the POWER to watch them crumble. As the first season unfolds at breakneck speed, Tommy uses his outsider status to his advantage, breaking all the local rules and rewriting them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago.

New York rapper 50 Cent really can’t lose these days. While he won’t be the ‘face’ of ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ Curtis Jackson knows his upcoming Joseph Sikora-starring series is going to be a problem for its competition all winter ‘22.

50 Cent really is the rap game's biggest bully - and hero
New York rapper 50 Cent really deserves ample respect placed on his name. While he’s known for being the big bully folks have come to low-key love, what he’s done for the culture as a whole - like getting actor Geoffrey Owens back on the Hollywood scene - is what’s really overlooked.

Things are heating up and we’re not talking about fireplaces or gloves in ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ season two. With anticipation building for the third episode, here’s a quick rundown on what to expect before it premieres Sunday, December 5 on STARZ.
‘The Greater Good’ is all about trying to maintain
The third episode of STARZ’s “Power Book II: Ghost” season two premieres on Sunday, December 5, at 8 pm. In “The Greater Good,” Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) tries to keep CourseCorrect from going under. While Diana’s (LaToya Tonodeo) wary of Cane’s (Woody McClain) motives, Dru’s (Lovell Adams-Gray) distracted by his heart, and Zeke’s (Daniel Bellomy) future is put at risk, everyone is wondering, where’s Monet (Mary J. Blige)?
In case you need a refresher on where things stand in ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ season two, here’s a quick rundown.
POWER Book II: Ghost” begins its second season with Tariq St. Patrick still running from a legacy that haunts him. Forced into the choice to take the life of his professor, Jabari Reynolds, Tariq finds himself drifting further from that which he’s been fighting to protect: his family. With Tasha in witness protection, Tariq knows he must sacrifice anything to save what’s left of his family. Unable to do it alone, he turns to those wielding power and influence: Davis MacLean and his new partner, Cooper Saxe, as well as Rashad Tate. Of course, all of these options come with a steep price. So, it’s back to business with the Tejadas. But now with two murders involving Stansfield, Monet Tejada has to question if Tariq is what’s best for her family, as she seeks to protect her nephew’s NBA prospects at all costs. Her kids, Dru and Diana, question her moves as she grows more distracted, especially when Monet goes as far as trusting Cane again despite his actions against the family. In doing so, Monet finds herself in bed with Mecca, a man who wants to show her a whole new world, potentially at the cost of destroying her old one. Forcing Monet to lean on Tariq, who must decide what he really wants and what he’s going to sacrifice to get it.
