2 Chainz on The Origin of His Forthcoming Album with Lil Wayne 'Welcome 2 Collegrove’…
We've been working on it for some time, had a lot of clearance issues, but for the most part we're two hardworking individuals who go in the studio every night. So, I don't think it was hard recording the music. It just was a process of getting the music out to the people. I think me and him just have that chemistry. We enjoy working with each other a lot, and it's a lot of respect there. And as I always say, still sharpen still. So, it's always that little piece of anxiety of knowing that I got to this verse has to be better than the last one. I think it's healthy. I think competition is healthy in any and everything that we do.
2 Chainz on Prioritizing the Lil Wayne Collaboration Over a New Solo Album…
I didn't want to put out any more solo music until I put this project out. I think we just came to a point where it was time to be the dynamic duo that always wanted us to be. The first project was creative. I think it was a little limited. He wasn't on every track. So for this one right here, for us to be on every song together to present this to the world, I just felt like it was time. This has been in the making, it seems to be a trend of two superstars linking up and putting out a project for the fans. There's a lot of artists doing that. I think it's happening. And I think it's fun too. The creative process of being around and seeing how people create and come up with certain things is always so inspiring too.
2 Chainz on the Fun of Collaboration…
Yeah, I feel like you do a song, you do a hook, and then you can lead a second half to whoever you're working with, right? And, if they come up with something crazy and witty, you can maybe erase what you did or, you know what I'm saying? Combine the two ideas. So I think that's what the creative process is like sometime, and I think it could be fun sometimes.
2 Chainz on Continuing To Return To Music Despite His Other Pursuits and Why He Hasn’t Reached His Pinnacle Yet…
I do love it. I'm very passionate about working. I'm very passionate about creating new music. I get excited about not knowing what I may say or come up with next. I still feel like, even in my forties that I haven't reached my pinnacle yet. So… I just feel like I'm just still hungry about what I'm doing and what I want to present to the world. And yes, other doors are opening because I feel like I'm someone that's educated and I'm someone that has a street background. And when you combine those two things, that ultimately makes you some type of superhero. But I'm one of those people that just enjoy learning new things and obviously meeting new people.I just think I was just born with a social butterfly. I think relationships can be worth more than money. But ultimately, I love music. I love working with people. I love collaborating. I love traveling. I love being on stage. That's what satisfies my itch.
2 Chainz on Why He’s Excited About Usher’s Performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in February…
I'm excited for Usher, man. He's a great entertainer. I was able to catch his show out in Vegas with my wife. I was highly entertained. I suggest anybody who had a chance to see it and check it out, because I know the Super Bowl won't be, they won't give him as much time as his show out in Vegas to see the whole show. But, he's a great entertainer. I think it's well deserved. He's actually an artist that's featured on the project with me and Wayne, so I'm excited for people to hear that. And it's just divine timing.
2 Chainz Tells Apple Music That Benny The Butcher is Also Featured on The Project with Lil Wayne…
Benny the Butcher. You know what I'm saying? This is a rap album. Let's not lose focus of what's going on. It's fabulous too. Someone else who has a sharp pen and very witty.

Music: Here's four of the greatest hip-hop songs about gambling
While gambling is a popular pastime, especially for the rich and famous, which includes music artists, it isn’t featured too often in what would be described as mainstream music. However, one genre that has always featured gambling is hip-hop, with many tracks referencing the activity.
While gambling is a popular pastime, especially for the rich and famous, which includes music artists, it isn’t featured too often in what would be described as mainstream music. However, one genre that has always featured gambling is hip-hop, with many tracks referencing the activity.
1. Kendrick Lamar – Vegas
Vegas is the gambling mecca and also the title of a hit track by Kendrick Lamar. In the production, Lamar brings together elements of love and of gambling in Vegas, with the latter getting underway at the blackjack table. From there, it's on to shooting craps, playing poker and spinning the reels of slot machines. Vegas is an excellent track with an elaborate storyline, but due to his fame, it's unlikely Lamar could enjoy what plays out in real life, but he has options, such as playing some of the best live casino games from home, which are just as good.
2. Akon – I’m So Paid
When you read the title of the Akon track I'm So Paid, it's obvious that there will be plenty of references to money and wealth. And, while some may not think the song is directly about gambling, there are elements that make you think it could be making reference to it. For example, Akon suggests succeeding against all odds, which is what you have to do when gambling in its many guises. There's also a reference to the ball bouncing too, which could relate to the action of a croupier when he drops the ball onto the roulette wheel.
3. Ghostface Killah – Pokerface
Yes, we know what you're thinking. Lady Gaga did do a track called Pokerface, but the one for our list is by hip-hop star Ghostface Killah because when you boil it down, it's a track that advertises poker more than any other song ever has. Dialogue from gambling movie Rounders, poker chips clinking and World Series of Poker commentary all feature in Pokerface. Ghostface Killah also brings the activity into play by speaking about his inability to handle the game and references pushing into the pot.
4. 2 Chainz – Countin
2 Chainz, like many others, speaks about luxury and material things in a lot of the music he’s made over the years. But in Countin, it’s more along the lines of the struggle for said riches and wealth and the determination to secure it. Some could be forgiven for thinking the track’s title relates to counting cards, but it doesn’t. The gambling element comes when 2 Chainz references betting ‘a hundred thou with the Falcons.’ Before he references ‘lost a hundred thousand with the Falcons.’
For such a popular pastime, you would’ve thought that gambling would have made it into more music tracks over the years, especially with how popular sports betting and playing casino games is. But if there is one genre that will always do a good job of bringing it to the forefront, it’s hip-hop. And it’s no surprise that many hip-hop artists have a love for gambling, be it betting on sports or hitting the casinos of Las Vegas.

This week, YG came through with some classic anthems - both past and present - and did not disappoint. Along with his own anthems, YG also shared the stage with everyone from longtime pal Mustard and 2 Chainz to Big Sean, Tyga and Ty Dolla $ign.
Thursday night, multi-platinum recording artist and entrepreneur YG headlined a sold-out show at the Kia Forum as part of "The Red Cup Tour"with opening acts Oh Geesy, KalanFrFr, Day Sulan, and D3SZN. LA's "hometown hero" surprised a sold-out crowd of 18,000 by reuniting with DJ Mustard and star guests, including 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Tyga, Roddy Rich, Ty Dolla $ign, and Blxst. YG performed his top hits, such as "Toot it and Boot it," "Left Right," "I Just Wanna Party," "You Broke," "BPT," and more, for the city of Inglewood, across the street from where he created his early music in his mother's garage.
"The Red Cup Tour" follows the release of YG's latest album, "I Got Issues" released on September 30th, 2023, via Def Jam. It reached #12 on the Billboard US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and its lead single, "Toxic" was the #1 rhythmic single on US radio charts. The 17-city tour kicked off on January 20th and makes stops across the U.S. in cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, and more before wrapping up in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Neal S. 2 Chainz links up with Krystal food spots
Deuce joins forces with the popular regional fast food restaurant chain located in Georgia. While not yet as expansive as your local franchise burger spot, Chainz’s presence with the brand could turn the small, square hamburger spot into a global slider go-to.
2 Chainz and Krystal are both ATL natives and have big plans for their hometown's market, such as co-branded restaurants. 2 Chainz and his team will also lead the creation of multiple new platforms and partnerships, including menus and merchandising.
2 Chainz makes Krystal partnership official
Deuce went the extra mile to make sure the world knows about this power move. He lit up Instagram with some context behind the logic for teaming with Krystal.
“I Remember making plays at the @krystal on the Southside. Fast fwd now I’m the head of creative marketing, looking fwd to adding some Toni to the menu, value to the restaurant chain & creating new opportunities for the community. sincerely yours Krystal Toni. #DOPEDONTSELLITSELF”
The post ignited a handful of co-signs from everyone like hip-hop stars Gucci Mane and Hit-Boy to vixen/TV personality Toya Johnson.

Deuce ballin’ hard
On a separate note, Chainz doesn’t just floss when he’s around family and friends in fancy places. The hip-hop star even makes sure he’s in luxury stitches when balling on the basketball court courtesy of Louis Vuitton sneakers.
The hype will always remain on the go-to kicks like Nike and Adidas but there’s no denying just how insanely flawless these low LV’s look on Deuce. The rap heavyweight recently shared a glimpse at his kick game on the court.
AZ drops his new 2 Chainz collabo and announces 'Doe Or Die II' deluxe album
New York rapper AZ is hungrier than ever. The hip-hop veteran not only comes through heading into the weekend with his new 2 Chainz-featured ‘Motorola Era’ anthem but also announces the Do Or Die II deluxe album set to drop in the coming days.
New York rapper AZ is hungrier than ever. The hip-hop veteran not only comes through heading into the weekend with his new 2 Chainz-featured ‘Motorola Era’ anthem but also announces the Do Or Die II deluxe album set to drop in the coming days.
AZ’s new 2 Chainz ‘Motorola Era’ hits hard
In time for a new music Friday, AZ unleashed his Statik Selektah-produced banger to the masses. It features Chainz doing what he does best with SS’s signature sound in the background. AZ uses the new anthem as the opportunity to celebrate and announce his deluxe version dropping January 28.
Over the course of his distinguished and influential career, AZ has been nominated for Grammy’s, sold millions of albums, created hit singles and lent his voice to some of Hip-Hop’s most timeless music.
It had been a decade since AZ graced fans with an album, but his long-teased sequel, Doe Or Die II, became one of 2021’s undeniable success stories. Featuring appearances and production from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T-Pain, Alchemist, Conway The Machine, Dave East, Pete Rock, Bink, Buckwild, Kaygee, Heatmakerz, Rockwilder, and Baby Paul, Doe Or Die II was a mainstay at the top of the DSP charts upon its release.
Now, to thank fans for their overwhelming support, AZ has announced a deluxe edition of Doe Or Die II, which includes four new tracks, led by “Motorola Era” featuring 2 Chainz and produced by Statik Selektah.
AZ promises big things on the new deluxe album
The hip-hop lyricist has already dished on the motivation behind putting out a deluxe version of his star-studded project.
“Doe Or Die II had been in the making for five to six years before its release, not in the creative sense, but in my head, envisioning how I would execute it, and who would be involved. Would the fans still appreciate it? But once I started the creative process during the pandemic, I knew this was what fans had been waiting on. Record by record the songs got better and better. When release day arrived and the feedback matched the hype, I knew it was special and I had delivered the promised masterpiece” AZ commented.
AZ also acknowledges a ridiculous amount of punchlines on his new 2 Chainz song.
“Salute to everyone anticipating the Doe Or Die II Deluxe, I feel the love and I won’t let you down. This is true poetry from a true dart thrower. I’m setting off the Deluxe with a banger, “Motorola Era,” featuring 2 Chainz and produced by Statik Selektah. It’s packed with lyrical braggadocious punchlines and designed to take you on a journey.”
The Doe or Die II deluxe album tracklisting is stacked
The official deluxe album comes with three new bangers, most notably the addition of 2 Chainz’s ‘Motorola Era’ song.
