Metro Boomin delivers a ‘Walk Em Down’ music video to celebrate two years

It’s more than just Metro on this anthem. How about getting the cameras rolling with hip-hop artists 21 Savage and Mustafa showing out? Tough.

GRAMMY®-nominated, diamond-certified producer and global superstar Metro Boomin unveiled a new music video for his hit single, "Walk Em Down (We Don’t Kill Civilians)," in celebration of the two year anniversary of his critically acclaimed, award-winning 2022 album, HEROES & VILLAINS. The cinematic visuals marked a significant milestone in the success of theHEROES & VILLAINS campaign. Recognized as one of the 25 most-streamed rap albums of all time, the album has amassed nearly 9 billion streams, with its iconic debut in the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film soundtrack cementing its place in cultural history.

Directed by esteemed filmmaker Hidji, and produced by the talented Ceze and Ricky Zanders, the noir-style music video portrays a powerful message, addressing deeply impactful themes surrounding youth violence. Featuring artists on the track, 21 Savage andMustafa, the video employs striking imagery to explore heavy themes of pain, breaking harmful cycles, and the resilience of individuals and families affected by violence.

This has been a monumental year for Metro Boomin, as he just recently received four nominations for the 2025 GRAMMY® Awards, celebrating his chart-topping dual-album projects; ‘We Don’t Trust You’ and ‘We Still Don’t Trust You’ in collaboration with Future. Nomination categories include: Best Rap Album for ‘We Don’t Trust You’, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Like That”featuring Future and Kendrick Lamar, and Best Melodic Rap Performance for “We Still Don’t Trust You” featuring the Weeknd. He was also nominated for Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Album, and more for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards culminating his ongoing success for recent projects. Following his multiple GRAMMY® and BBMA nominations, Metro Boomin was featured alongside Future as GQ Hitmakers of the Year for 2024.

ABOUT METRO BOOMIN:

Since 2013, GRAMMY® Award-nominated diamond-certified producer, DJ, and artist Metro Boomin has defined not only the sound, but the direction of hip-hop. Tallying tens of billions of streams, he impressively endures as the “Highest-Streaming Producer” in music. With dozens of smashes to his name including 52 Billboard Hot 100 hits as a lead artist, his unmatched, unprecedented, and undeniable discography encompasses the quintuple-platinum “Jumpman” by Drake and Future, quadruple-platinum “Bad and Boujee” [feat. Lil Uzi Vert] by Migos, 14x Platinum “Congratulations” [feat. Quavo] by Post Malone, 9x Platinum “Mask Off” by Future, and many more. He has notched three #1 debuts on the Billboard 200 with the platinum full-length solo debut LP Not All Heroes Wear Capes [2020], gold-certified Savage Mode II with 21 Savage, and his platinum sophomore album HEROES & VILLAINS [2022] hailed by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Clash, Slant and more. In the wake of the latter, he notably scored 2024 GRAMMY® Award nods for “Producer of the Year” and “Best Rap Album.” He also architected the official soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The album—Metro Boomin Presents Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse—became his “6th Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200.” In 2023, It’s no wonder Variety crowned him its ‘”Producer of the Year,” Time touted him on the “Time100Next,” and he took home BET Hip Hop Awards for “Best DJ of the Year” and “Best Producer of the Year.” However, Metro never stops, and 2024 will be no exception.

If there was any doubting how amazing Metro Boomin is as an artist, just look at how he came through for Coachella Week 1. If there was any doubting how amazing Metro Boomin is as an artist, just look at how he came through for Coachella Week 1. The arts and music festival had all types of star power but possibly none greater than the game-changing hitmaker delivering instant classics from his recently released Heroes & Villains studio album.

Metro Boomin completely owned Coachella Week 1

From John Legend and Future to 21 Savage, The Weeknd and the iconic Diddy pulling through for Metro Boomin, it’s clear he’s more than your top notch premium performer.

Friday night, Diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Metro Boomin, dressed head to toe in Chrome Hearts, took the Coachella stage for the first time with an elite ensemble of ‘heroes and villains’ shutting down night one of the festival. Performing a selection of songs from the superhero producer’s latest album, John Legend, Future, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, The Weeknd, and Diddy descended on the Sahara Tent in full force to perform their Metro-produced best and latest hits with 21 Savage co-signing him as “the greatest producer of our generation” on stage. The Weeknd also treated fans to a surprise unreleased song while the legendary Mike Dean commanded the keys and saxophone. The set’s creative direction was created by La Mar Taylor with production design by Human Person.

Since being unleashed last fall, HEROES & VILLAINS captured #1 on the Billboard 200, Top Rap Albums Chart, and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, registering his third straight top bow on each of the respective charts. Moreover, it eclipsed 185K in total first-week consumption, marking his highest seven-day tally yet,  and has generated over 2.5 billion streams and counting.

With no intention of slowing down, in the brand and humanitarian spaces, the close of 2022 marked year two of the “Single Moms are Superheroes” campaign with his Boominati Foundation in partnership with the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, and Metro is making new music for the forthcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animated film out this June. Most recently, he was in a commercial for his partnership with Budweiser for the Super Bowl and MLB to celebrate opening day

Just when you thought Metro Boomin was slowing down, the hip-hop hitmaker keeps the momentum going. The rap producer delivers in a big way coming courtesy of music icon Diddy putting his signature voice to the hard-hitting ‘Creepin (Remix)’ anthem.

Diddy and Metro Boomin link up

Puff Daddy adds something special to an already platinum-earning single. It’s more than just a song, there’s a full-fledged music video to make the release even more memorable.

Taking his smash hit to another level, Metro Boomin enlists Diddy, who was featured on the original Bad Boy classic “I Don’t Wanna Know,” performed, written, and produced by former Bad Boy artist and hitman Mario Winans, for the release of the remix of his now platinum track “Creepin” with The Weeknd and 21 Savage.

To coincide with the release of the song, Metro Boomin drops the star-studded video with DiddyThe Weeknd and 21 Savage. The visual pays homage to original hit with special appearances from Mario Winans and R&B singer and actress Coco Jones.

Upon arrival last fall, HEROES & VILLAINSwhich includes the original monstrous track “Creepin,” captured #1 on the Billboard 200, Top Rap Albums Chart, and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, registering his third straight top bow on each of the respective charts. Moreover, it eclipsed 185K in total first-week consumption, marking his highest seven-day tally yet.

Thus far, it has already generated over 2 billion streams and counting. Spending over 10 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Global 200 charts, “Creepin” vaulted to #3, while “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” feat. Future Chris Brown climbed to #8, marking his highest entries on the Hot 100 thus far after debuting in the Top 10. Not to mention, “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” also picked up a platinum certification from the RIAA.

HEROES & VILLAINS attracted some of the most enthusiastic tastemaker praise of his career thus far. Pitchfork proclaimed, “The hitmaking producer’s latest album brandishes his ardent ambition, attention to detail, and gift for curation, while Complex summed it up succinctly as “the ultimate rap blockbuster.” GQ noted, HEROES & VILLAINS is the result of Metro challenging himself to push his music even further. The project is full of intriguing little sonic experiments.”  Additionally, the Diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer and trailblazer notably recharged, remixed, and reupped all 15 tracks of his blockbuster HEROES & VILLAINS for the (Villains Version).
