Secret Invasion: Here's 7 characters you gotta watch out for in the must-see Marvel Studios show
The new ‘Secret Invasion’ series is going to blow you away - seriously. Six episodes of jam-packed fun and signature acting from the iconic Samuel L. Jackson is expected but getting to see the fellow Hollywood heavyweight attached to the show? Holy smokes. It’s vital to take a deep dive into who you should expect to see with the new show premiering in a matter of hours.

Jackson is expected but getting to see fellow Hollywood heavyweights attached to the show? Holy smokes. It’s vital to take a deep dive into who you should expect to see with the new show premiering in a matter of hours.
Now granted, this does touch a ‘little’ bit into spoiler territory, so while I do suggest skimming these details, you might want to wait until ‘after’ watching the premiere and coming back here to get the nitty gritty details on these standout actors and their characters’ contributions to the Marvel Studios universe. Reminder - ‘Secret Invasion’ officially premieres Wednesday, June 21 on Disney+.
Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos
Ben Mendelsohn reprises his role of Talos, from Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel.” We find Talos, a celebrated Skrull warrior, grappling with what it means to be a leader as he finds himself at odds with those closest to him, including his friend, Nick Fury.
As Mendelsohn explains, “So when we get to ‘Secret Invasion,’ Nick Fury’s been AWOL. After Thanos blipped half the universe, Fury headed back to his space station. Meanwhile, Talos still has the problem that he had: he has to find somewhere for his people to be able to survive, let alone thrive.”
Continuing, he says, “But his most powerful working relationship is gone. Nick Fury’s gone. He doesn’t have the alliance and the advantage of having Fury on the ground with him on Earth. So, Nick Fury’s got some catching up to do when he returns.”
Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill
Cobie Smulders returns to the role of Maria Hill, which she originated in the first “Avengers” film back in 2012. Hill is a decorated spy and Fury’s loyal #2, who joins in the fight against the clandestine invasion of Earth by the Skrulls.
Offering insight into her character, Smulders says, “Maria Hill has always been loyal, and I think that that is one of her strongest traits. She’s always been willing to put herself on the frontline to defend others.”
Martin Freeman’s Agent Everett Ross
Martin Freeman brings back Agent Everett Ross, who discovers that all is not what it seems when he receives information of an impending Skrull invasion.
Describing where we find Ross at the start of the series, Freeman says, “Ross is meeting with agent Prescod who has information about Skrulls, and Ross is there to help him and determine whether he’s going to bring Fury down to help deal with that.”
After Ross and Prescod meet, the decision’s made to call in the big guns, and Fury returns to Earth from the S.A.B.E.R. space station, fully aware of the promise he has not met and the threat now facing humanity.
Emilia Clarke’s G’iah
Emilia Clarke portrays G’iah, Talos’ daughter, who has become a fierce and pragmatic Skrull warrior. We briefly met G’iah as Talos’ young daughter in “Captain Marvel,” but in this series she’s all grown up.
G’iah’s relationship with her father “is incredibly complicated,” as Clarke explains: “One of the mostinteresting things about this show is that you get to seea domestic side to both Talos and Fury that you haven't seen up until this point. You get to see them at home, for want of a better word, in a very extreme situation, obviously. And G’iah is a part of that for Talos. And theworld’s best dad award probably isn’t going to him. He’sraised a fighter, and the relationship that they have is built around her proving herself.”
She adds, “As things get really serious and as her life becomes truly in danger, that’s when Talos kind of warms as a character. And I think that’s when you see a lot more heart than you’ve probably seen in him before because he’s talking about his daughter.”
Olivia Colman’s Sonya Falsworth
Olivia Colman joins the MCU as Sonya Falsworth, a seasoned MI6 agent, who will stop at nothing to protect her beloved England—no matter the cost. It could be said that Nick Fury meets his match with Sonya Falsworth. Despite looking like one’s favorite aunt with her crimson chiffon and offers of tea, she is actually the deadliest of opponents and has been tracking Gravik and the rebels for some time.
Commenting on the relationship between Sonya and Fury, Colman says, “Sonya is an old friend of Nick Fury’s, and they respect each other. Even though they like each other, they still don’t entirely trust each other. They’ve got a long history.”
When it comes to the Skrulls, the two disagree. “Sonya and Fury have a different view of the Skrulls,” remarks Colman. “He knows that some of them are good, but she thinks all of them are bad. So, they have to come together at some point.”
Samuel L. Jackson has nothing but praise for Colman, with whom he shares several important scenes in the series. “Olivia Colman is so amazing, I just really love working with her,” says Jackson. “She comes in, and it’s one of those things where I’ve always known from watching her that as serious and convincing and as honest as her work is, you can see the twinkle in her eye that’s fun. Like me, this is a sort of playground for her, she just wants to come to work and the better you are at it, the better she becomes. She’s so amazing.”
Director Ali Selim agrees, adding about her role, “We approached the role of Sonya entirely differently. Whereas Fury and Talos’ performances are marked with drama and intensity and darkness, Olivia’s performance is marked by humor and lightness.”
Don Cheadle's Colonel James Rhodes
Don Cheadle returns as Colonel James Rhodes, who must make some tough calls when he learns of an impending Skrull invasion.
For Cheadle, the opportunity to comeback to the MCU in “Secret Invasion” wasa positive experience. “With theseDisney+ series, we’re looking at the MCUthrough different lenses and you get tosee all different sides to the characters. So, characters that you may get to seeonly in certain scenes in all of the moviesthat have come out, now we get to really focus on them. And we get to really sort of dig into who they are. On ‘Secret Invasion’ we get to really dig into Fury and his journey and where he’s coming from and where he’s headed, and what he’s having to experience and its challenges.”
He sums up, “In this series in particular, there are themes explored of being the others and where do they belong and who gets to call this place home and the effect of promises broken to a species that is trying to find its place in the world. I think that’s something worth investigating more, and it’s fun to do it through this lens.”
Kingsley Ben-Adir’s Gravik
Kingsley Ben-Adir plays Gravik, the young mastermind behind the rebel Skrulls and their mission to take over Earth.
Describing Gravik’s motivations, Ben-Adir says, “Gravik thinks that thirty years is a long time to be promised something, and that the Skrulls are never going to get a home. He’s definitely of the belief that nothing was going to change and that Fury’s full of it. He’s not buying any of it anymore. So, he goes off to make things right in his own way.”
Working with director Ali Selim was a positive experience for Ben-Adir, who says, “Ali’s just done a great job, and I feel like creatively we found our groove as the months went on. We’ve had lots of great discussions about the character. I’ve got great respect for him and what he does, and he’s done a terrific job. He’s been really helpful in so many of the scenes and knows when to give a nudge here or a tweak there.”
‘Secret Invasion’ officially premieres Wednesday, June 21 on Disney+.
The Proc'nosis: Jonathan Majors may be the one to destroy the Avengers as well as save the MCU franchise
The lovable member of the Avengers is back. Ant-Man has returned with his first film since before Infinity War, and he’s back to take on the next Avengers level villain, Kang. This time we get to take a journey into the quantum realm as the next phase of the MCU begins with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which is now out on digital retailer platforms.

So, again, hear me out. I love Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Their angle with him just happy to be a part of the team is fun. Jonathan Majors may be the one to destroy the Avengers, as well as save the MCU franchise. Even with the surprise appearance, for those who haven’t seen it yet, Majors is just that dude.
Even with everything going around him right now, assuming Disney does not try to cut ties, Majors is the one to get people interested in the MCU again. Every great hero needs a great villain. We saw this with Thanos and Kilmonger. We know more times than not the hero wins, but, every so often you get someone who is so good at their role, you find yourself rooting for them. Insert Kang, Jonathan Majors, just as cool and as evil as you want.
With this introduction into the multiverse, we not only get one version of Kang, but we get MULTIPLE! From his introduction in Loki season one, to this point he’s skyrocketed up the charts as a fan favorite. I loved it for the introduction of Kang, and the directions they can go with the mega-villain.

The new ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ album looks amazing
Days after Rihanna returned with her new ‘Lift Me Up’ single to the masses, the song rundown list reveals collaborations with Tens, Burna Boy, Fireboy DML, Future, Snow Tha Product, E-40 and more.
The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By soundtrack, produced by Ryan Coogler, Ludwig Göransson, Archie Davis and Dave Jordan is set for release on Nov. 4 from Roc Nation Records/Def Jam Recordings/Hollywood Records. The soundtrack is available for Pre-Save/Pre-Add/pre-order here. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, opens in U.S. theaters Nov. 11, 2022.
Rihanna’s lead single “Lift Me Up” makes history this week as it becomes the most-added song in U.S. radio history, amassing the most ever single day spins and the largest ever single day audience.
The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever –Music From and Inspired By soundtrack features over 40 international artists recorded in Lagos, Nigeria, Mexico City, London and Los Angeles. Featured artists include Rihanna, Tems, Fireboy DML, OG DAYV Ft. Future, CKay Ft. PinkPantheress, E-40 and many more.
Ludwig Göransson, who has two Emmys®, two Grammys® and an Oscar® to his credit, composed and produced both the score and the original songs on the soundtrack. His extensive work producing artists (Childish Gambino, Adele, Haim, Justin Timberlake) as well as his work scoring films and TV series (Black Panther, Creed, The Mandalorian) made him uniquely qualified to helm both parts of the soundscape.
For their fourth cinematic collaboration, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Coogler and Göransson set out to create an innovative soundscape where Göransson says, “The songs and score are one.” The two artists have talked about this approach since their days attending USC Film School, and finally made it a reality with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
In what became a massive labor of love, Göransson spent over 2500 hours recording the score and soundtrack – which involved six studios, across three continents and five countries. Over the course of the film, the audience will hear over 250 musicians, two orchestras, two choirs and over 40 vocalists.
Coogler was intimately involved in the creation of the music for the film, from co-writing lyrics on the Rihanna track “Lift Me Up” to suggesting the cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” performed by Nigerian singer/songwriter Tems and bridged together with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” for the film’s instantly viral trailer.
Göransson said, “Ryan and I talked about the importance of creating an immersive journey of sound and voice. If we used a song in the film, we wanted it to be the entire song, and to be connected to the story. Thematically, we wanted to move the audience from grief to celebration. When you listen to the soundtrack, you can close your eyes and relive the experience of the movie. That was the intention.”
Given the story is inspired by both Nigerian and Mesoamerican cultures, recording sessions were set up in both Lagos, Nigeria, and Mexico City, Mexico, as well as Abbey Road Studios in London. Producers worked with popular artists from Lagos including Tems, which has become a hotbed of musical innovation. In addition, emerging rappers and artists from Mexico City are featured on the soundtrack including rapper Pat Boy, who raps entirely in Mayan.
While in Mexico City, Göransson worked closely with music archeologist Alejandro Rojas to explore and research Mayan music. Instruments native to both Nigerian and Mesoamerican cultures were featured in the creation of the soundscape.
Enough of all the background, here’s a full-fledged look at the decked-out tracklisting.

Finally - it’s 'almost’ here. After months of hoping a new Marvel Studios flick would dominate the screen not named Morbius, the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived and it looks amazing.
Finally - it’s 'almost’ here. After months of hoping a new Marvel Studios flick would dominate the screen not named Morbius, the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived and it looks amazing.
The new 'Thor: Love and Thunder’ movie trailer looks solid
Start the countdown. Barring any wild setbacks, the summer is set for Marvel Studios with the latest chapter in the Thor franchise set to hit theaters in early July. What better way to get pumped than seeing the new trailer at the start of the work grind?
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Directed by Waititi (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “Jojo Rabbit”) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, “Thor: Love and Thunder” opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
The new Thor: Love and Thunder poster hits hard, too
While we wait for the flick to hit the big screen, we at least have some dope wallpaper-worthy artwork to embrace. Marvel Studios’ new Thor: Love and Thunder poster is super solid.

Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is coming, now let’s get the hype going
While June 8 feels like an eternity away, Marvel Entertainment is helping ease those pains with a jam-packed new trailer so people know what to expect.
Today, Disney+ released the trailer and poster for Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” along with the news that the series will launch exclusively on the streaming service on June 8. The trailer gives viewers a first look at the MCU’s newest Super Hero as she tries to balance high-school life, her family and her emerging super powers.
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
The nitty gritty details surrounding ‘Ms. Marvel’
If you’re still getting put on to what Ms. Marvel is all about, you can look forward to a huge cast of both familiar and new Hollywood faces.
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.

Marvel Studios' Moon Knight looks confusing and fun
Marvel Studios is back in full effect. Just when one series or movie crushes it on Disney+ or the box office, it loads up the next one. Endless and powerful releases are still going strong especially with ‘Moon Knight’ officially premiered to the masses.
Marvel Studios is back in full effect. Just when one series or movie crushes it on Disney+ or the box office, it loads up the next one. Endless and powerful releases are still going strong especially with ‘Moon Knight’ officially premiered to the masses.
Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight looks confusing and fun
In all fairness, it’s hard to tell what exactly ‘Moon Knight’ will be but from the nearly two minute preview we all saw during last night’s Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals game, the excitement is fully ignited and not quite understanding makes it even more of a gotta-see-it-when-it-drops project.
The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.
“Moon Knight” stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes. Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers. Grant Curtis, Trevor Waterson and Rebecca Kirsch serve as co-executive producers.
