DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg bless The Culture with ‘Can U Dig That?’
Much more than a simple follow-up to his ‘Work This Out’ Russ tune, Premier raises the bar even more with his Snoop-assisted instant audio classic.
DJ Premier is back on his grind. Mere weeks after getting into his R&B bag with Russ on “Work This Out,” DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg link up for an icons-only affair with their new single “Can U Dig That?,” which is now available.
What’s more Hip-Hop than DJ Premier and Snoop Dogg. Premier is unquestionably one of the greatest producers of all time, and Snoop Dogg is arguably the most famous rapper ever.
Though Premier and Snoop have worked together previously; Snoop appeared on Gang Starr’s The Ownerz Album (“In The Life…”), Premier produced two songs on Snoop’s Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss album (one of which he discussed on his influential "So Wassup" series), “Unfucwitable” feat The Lady Of Rage from Snoop’s Doggy Style Allstars Vol. 1,and most recently on Russ’ “Free” which also featured Big Krit.
Their new single, “Can U Dig That?” is their first collaboration under DJ Premier and Ian Schwartzman’s independent imprint TTT. “Can U Dig That?” offers all that you love from Preem and Snoop, with a pulsating lo-fi production and patented scratch chorus from Premier, which amplifies Snoop’s stream-of-consciousness raps.
“My manager and I launched our label TTT (To The Top), and we decided to call Snoop as one of my first album collaborations. Snoop recorded a demo of the song, and it went into my vaults unfinished” DJ Premier professed. “Fast forward, our initial plan for an album changed, and we decided to just release singles. Snoop updated his lyrics and now it’s ready for our audience to ride out to—Can U Dig That?”
DJ Premier & Snoop Dogg “Can U Dig That?” is now available at all DSP’s via TTT (To The Top).

Spice 1 delivers with ‘Gangsta Shhh’ for the masses
It’s much more than a one and done. Spice comes through with past, present and future flexing on the new audio gem.
true O.G. and undisputed West Coast Royalty, after three prodigious decades in the game, Spice 1’s longevity and influence speaks for itself. The Bay Area legend’s brand of vivid, raw and uncut lyricism, venting on the complexities of street life, has resulted in three Gold plaques, standout soundtrack singles (“Trigga Gots No Heart” from the award-winning Menace II Society Film), and respect from Hip-Hop’s elite; including making classics with Tupac, Too Short, MC Eiht, E-40, Method Man, Ice-T and UGK among others.
In the summer of 2019, Spice made a triumphant return with Platinum O.G., which debuted in the top 10 on DSP’s and included collaborations with comrades Too Short, Pimp C, MC Eiht, Kurupt, Devin The Dude, Tha Outlawz, Yukmouth (Luniz), Digital Underground’s Money B and more.
Now, Spice 1 is back with a new single, “Gangsta Shhh” featuring Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Q Bosilini and has also announced that he will be releasing his sequel album, Platinum O.G.2, on 5-3-24. “Gangsta Shhh” is now available at all DSP’s, along with the pre-order for Platinum O.G.2.
“The homie Snoop and I have never done a song together until now” Spice 1 reflects. “So we wanted to make the song extra legendary with having Ross on it too.”
The chilling and powerful story-telling that separates Spice 1 from his peers is still in effect with Platinum O.G. 2. The album is narrated by Sway Calloway, and produced by N.O. Joe (Geto Boys, Scarface, UGK, Ice Cube, Devin The Dude, AZ, LL Cool J) & Ryan Elder; Elder who also executive produced the album states “I think Spice is the most underrated rapper of all time” he offers. “His significance and importance in the culture should be recognized. I truly care about preserving his legacy and would never do a sequel if I felt we couldn’t top the first one; and we did that. No one likes a bad sequel.”

Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg: Of course the music icons have a Gin & Juice collection dropping
West Coast rap icons Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are proving it’s way bigger than music-making these days. The hip-hop duo have linked to deliver their ready to drink Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop to the masses.
West Coast rap icons Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are proving it’s way bigger than music-making these days. The hip-hop duo have linked to deliver their ready to drink Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop to the masses.
Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg’s ‘Gin & Juice’ is real
It’s way bigger than just the iconic song. The duo’s new beverage collection comes with four flavors and pays homage to Snoop’s unforgettable Doggystyle album with the drinks coming out this spring.
Musical and cultural icons Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg kicked off the rollout of Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, the first ready to drink product from their new premium spirits company, with a surprise performance at the Super Bowl afterparty last night in Las Vegas.
Three decades after “Gin & Juice” left an indelible mark on popular culture and helped establish Dre and Snoop as groundbreaking hip-hop superstars, the pair are now known as much for their wide-ranging entrepreneurial ventures as for their game-changing music. With their premium beverage Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, they’re taking over some new territory -- the spirits industry.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Snoop’s classic debut album, Doggystyle, produced by Dr. Dre, the canned beverage is named, of course, for Snoop’s beloved, Grammy-nominated 1994 classic song “Gin & Juice,” and comes in four flavors: Citrus, Melon, Passionfruit, and Apricot. The canned cocktails are premium gin-based cocktails, crafted for an innovative experience with packaging designed by Ini Archibong. Product will be rolling out domestically throughout the US now through early spring.More offerings from the brand will be announced in the future.
“Together, we always try to create magic, we're having fun being creative, and everything about this product is really us,” says Dr. Dre. “There’s passion behind it, and friendship and love and a culture. We're shooting to make everything we do magnificent, and fortunately, most of the time we hit the target.” “Look where we’re at in our careers,” says Snoop Dogg. “Look at our age and look at what we've done, and we still love each other, so why not do something together? A lot of times people have been in a relationship for thirty years and can't talk to each other, can't hang out, so it’s just fun to be in a partnership with people that you actually love.”
Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop will be distributed nationally through Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, the largest beverage distributor in the U.S. The spirit company will be led by Patrick Halbert, Andrew Gill and Rocco Milano, the founders from On The Rocks Cocktails. In addition to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, investors include Jimmy Iovine, Main Street Advisors, Marc Rowan and Tom Werner.

Snoop Dogg Considered Michael Jackson "Family"
Andy Cohen: Were you and Michael Jackson, did you guys overlap at all?
Snoop Dogg: Me and Mike was family. His family and my family love each other. We have a record that never came out together. We never had issues. Only issue me and Mike had was we was at, what was that thing? Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier. He had an event in Vegas, like when they have all the clothes and all of that, so he had performers. He had Michael Jackson perform, Snoop Dogg perform, but where he messed up, he put Michael Jackson dressing room right next to Snoop Dogg, so Snoop Dogg is there doing this.
Andy Cohen: I think I know where this is going as he lights up.
Snoop Dogg: Mm-hmm, and they like, "You know, Michael Jackson's dressing room is next door." I'm like, "No it ain't." They like, "Yeah, there," so I'm like, "Hold on." Open the door.
Andy Cohen: Oh wow. You blew a bunch in.
Snoop Dogg: Yeah. He's right there looking at me.
Andy Cohen: Oh boy. He didn't like it.
Snoop Dogg: He said, "Snoop, don't do that."
Andy Cohen: But dude, what's with this unreleased song? Who has the masters?
Snoop Dogg: I gotta find out. It's a record that was done for some sort of, you know, he did records for the world. It was like some peaceful, a whole lot of artists on it record. He called me one night and it was crazy because the way his voice came through the phone, he was like, "Snoop, it's Mike. I have this song I want you to get on." I'm like, "Man, anything you want, Mike. It ain't no problem. Talk to me." Then, after we got past the song, he was like, "My mom always said that you look like someone in my family. I think we're related."
Andy Cohen: Michael Jackson. So, you went in, you laid down the track and then you never heard anything more about it?
Snoop Dogg: Nope.
Andy Cohen: Wow.
Snoop Dogg: I think I can find out who got it though. I think I can track it down and figure out who has it.
Andy Cohen: I mean, I kind of think you should.
Snoop Dogg: I kind of want to hear it.
Andy Cohen: Yeah. I kind of want to hear it too. I think we're not the only ones who want to hear it.
Snoop Dogg Calls Super Bowl Halftime Show Reaching "The Pinnacle"
Andy Cohen: Speaking of you and football, man, was that halftime show entertaining? Was that a great day for you?
Snoop Dogg: Probably one of the greatest days of my life to be able to be-
Andy Cohen: Is that right?
Snoop Dogg: Yeah, man. First of all, I'm a football fan and for the NFL to open their arms to hip-hop and then let us perform in LA, Rams win the Super Bowl, we have a great performance, the whole world sees it. It's the pinnacle of our careers as far as me and Dre. You know what I'm saying? Everybody else is a part of it as well, but I'm just saying me and Dre because we started from a certain place and to get to the mountaintop to celebrate that with him and the whole world, it felt good.
Andy Cohen: Yeah. Are you looking forward to Usher this year in the Super Bowl?
Snoop Dogg: Yeah. Usher's a good friend of mine. He's a family member. We family, so I'm really excited about what he's going to do because he's an amazing performer, dancer, singer. He looks good and he's got great records, so I'm loving the fact that the NFL is opening up to more music that is appealing to the globe rather than sitting to a section of music. Open it up because some of these artists have records that the whole world can't live without, so it's about time.
Andy Cohen: That's right. Well said.
Snoop Dogg & Andy Cohen on Kandi Burruss in 'The Underdoggs'
Andy Cohen: Kandi Burruss is in the movie. She plays a judge.
Snoop Dogg: Yes.
Andy Cohen: And is a staple of "Real Housewives All Stars." Did you know Kandi prior to the project?
Snoop Dogg: That's my homegirl. I reached out to her personally and asked her to be in the movie.
Andy Cohen: Is that right?
Snoop Dogg: Yeah, because I knew we were shooting in Atlanta and I knew she lived there, and then I knew she was a great actor and at the same time, the role requires somebody that was like her that could be classy and have hood, you know what I'm saying? She was a class act, like she was amazing for the role. When she got the role, she only had the script for a week and a half, and then Kandi came and I was like, "Kandi, let's make a song. Give us a song for the movie." She gave me a song and the whole nine, so it's like, I just love her spirit, how she work, how she get down, and it was an honor to work with her.
Andy Cohen: How do you know her? From when?
Snoop Dogg: Atlanta. Writing songs, being in the music scene, being in the mix. I've been in Atlanta nearly my whole career, so I've run across a lot of people and established relationships with 'em whether it's music, TV, film, whatever it is and I'm a cool guy, so if I like you and I see what you doing and I'm a fan of what you doing, I don't have no problem coming to tell you, trying to build a relationship with you, trying to figure out how we can do some things together.

Dr. Dre: The classic 'Still D.R.E.' is a Top 10 for songs Americans want to learn how to play
Legacy much, Dr. Dre? Turns out the iconic ‘Still D.R.E.’ song is going hard in 2023 and secures a spot in the Top 10 list of songs Americans vow to learn at some point in their lives according to Ukulele World.
Legacy much, Dr. Dre? Turns out the iconic ‘Still D.R.E.’ song is going hard in 2023 and secures a spot in the Top 10 list of songs Americans vow to learn at some point in their lives according to Ukulele World.
Dr. Dre’s ‘Still D.R.E.’ makes a Top 10 list of must-learn how to play
While there are other anthems like ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ and singer John Legend’s ‘All Of Me,’ the Doc is still in heavy demand as having a classic song people want to learn how to play.
‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ is the song Americans want to learn how to play the most, a new study reveals.
The study, conducted by ukulele enthusiasts at Ukulele World, analyzed over 1,000 songs based on searches for how to play them on guitar, piano, ukulele, violin and cello to discover which song is the most searched in the United States overall and for each instrument.
‘Over the Rainbow’, written by Harold Arlen and made famous by Judy Garland, comes top of the list with a total of 48,960.8 average monthly searches. The majority of the song’s searches are for how to play it on the ukulele, with 39,296 monthly searches, likely influenced by Hawaiian singer and songwriter Israel ‘IZ’ Kamakawiwoʻole, whose version is entitled "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and is played entirely on the instrument.
Second on the list is ‘Riptide’ by Vance Joy with 45,200.8 average monthly searches. Once again searches for how to play the song with the ukulele are the highest at 32,085.8, followed by the guitar at 11,519.2.
Traditional holiday song ‘Jingle Bells’ comes in third with 44,753.3 average monthly searches in the US. Americans are most likely to want to learn the piano version of the song, with 28,330 average monthly searches.
Further down on the list, ‘Hallelujah’ is fourth with a total of 32,199.2 average monthly searches. Originally by Leonard Cohen but reprised and popularized among younger generations by Jeff Buckley, the classic ballad is popular on all instruments, with the piano on top with 13,505.8 searches, followed by the guitar with 10,541.7 average searches and by the ukulele with 6,025.
The top five closes with Beethoven’s ‘Fur Elise’, among the most classic piano pieces, one that many are eager to learn despite the difficulty of some of its parts. The piece receives 30,470 average monthly searches in the US, mostly for how to play it on the piano.A spokesperson for Ukulele World commented on the findings: “It's always inspiring to see people keen to learn how to play a song on an instrument and it’s fascinating to discover which songs they want to start with or are just curious to check out. Songs like ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’, ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Fur Elise’ are considered classics that it’s very common to start from, mostly for their popularity rather than their level of difficulty.
“It’s also very interesting to see a modern and fairly new song such as ‘Riptide’ by Vance Joy in the top three, this is probably because the song is almost entirely played on an ukulele, and for anyone keen to play the instrument one it must a great fun to learn”.
