Prank You: Watching Sexyy Red trick Summer Walker is painfully funny

Normally I would save this type of content for other spots of the site but you can’t help cracking up at the start of your Attack The Culture experience when possible - so leave it up to rap diva Sexyy Red pulling a super fast one on crooner Summer Walker in a hilarious ‘Prank You’ episode.

Normally I would save this type of content for other spots of the site but you can’t help cracking up at the start of your Attack The Culture experience when possible - so leave it up to rap diva Sexyy Red pulling a super fast one on crooner Summer Walker in a hilarious ‘Prank You’ episode.

Sexyy Red gets a wild prank on Summer Walker and it’s must-see

It’s painfully funny and I can’t help but let loose with this wild interaction. The ‘Prank You’ episode focuses on the fears and scares of artificial intelligence taking over.

GRAMMY-nominated R&B superstar Summer Walker is taken for a ride in the latest episode of ‘Prank You,’ out now. The fast-growing digital series, created by the co-founder of ‘Punk’d,’ pulls jaw-dropping and hilarious stunts on the next generation of unsuspecting celebrities, with fresh content dropping regularly on YouTube and ‘Prank You’ social channels.

In this week’s episode, the “Heart Of A Woman” songstress gets tricked into thinking she’s gotten picked up in a driverless van gone haywire. The prank’s ‘director’ is none other than acclaimed rapper Sexyy Red, who was surprised by the series herself just last month. She loved it so much she asked to ‘get’ her friend Summer.

After hopping in the van with her team, Summer is quickly taken aback when she believes the car is being driven by Artificial Intelligence: “You got us in a car that has no driver? I don’t even like electric cars, I gave my Tesla back!” she says.

The precarious ride continues, but when the car (actually being driven by the ‘Prank You’ team) starts to swerve, reroutes the group to a farther destination, and stops in the middle of the road blocking traffic, Summer makes the decision to leap out of the window into the street.  After Sexyy Red and the ‘Prank You’ team make themselves known, Summer’s concern shifts to her attire: “You all got me in a muumuu in the street!”

Summer Walker: Here's a look at the new 'Clear 2: Soft Life EP' tracklist

Can’t wait until Friday to explode with excitement over singer Summer Walker’s Clear 2: Soft Life EP? Well fortunately the powerhouses at Interscope Records have come through with a look at the studio effort’s official 9-song tracklist.

Can’t wait until Friday to explode with excitement over singer Summer Walker’s Clear 2: Soft Life EP? Well fortunately the powerhouses at Interscope Records have come through with a look at the studio effort’s official 9-song tracklist.

Summer Walker’s new studio album tracklist has arrived

Whether you’re here to geek out over Childish Gambino being featured on ‘New Type’ or just want to get a feel for the song titles, Summer has hit the green light at providing a sneak peek at what to expect in 72 hours.

With just four days until the May 19th release of CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP, the reigning empress of modern-day R&B, Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records), reveals the hotly anticipated project’s tracklist. For the big reveal, Summer has partnered with Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist for the official announcement post. Plus, she enlists Sukihana of Love & Hip Hop and “Pound Town” rapper Sexyy Red for a hilarious, sitcom-style promo video in which the three bask in the perks of their newfound fame and fortune, including a first try of caviar, or as you might be soon saying, “cavinar.” CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP is the sequel to Summer’s 2019 four-track release, CLEAR.

Just moments ago, Summer also unveiled a 60-second exclusive sneak peek of the EP’s song “Pull Up” on TikTok. Actor Myles Truitt, known for his roles in BMF, Netflix’s Stranger Things and The New Edition Story, features in the preview clip. Plus, fans who have already pre-ordered CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP can expect an additional surprise: a digital download link to the full “Pull Up” track will arrive in their inboxes today. Several heavyweights also lend their talents to CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP, including Childish Gambino (“New Type”) and production work from Solange, Steve Lacy and John Kirby (“Agayu’s Revelation”). Find the full CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP tracklist below.

Tracklist

  1. “To Summer, From Cole”

  2. “Hardlife”

  3. “How Does It Feel”

  4. “Mind Yo Mouth”

  5. “Pull Up”

  6. “New Type” - featuring Childish Gambino

  7. “Finding Peace”

  8. “Set Up (2017)”

  9. “Agayu’s Revelation” – produced by Solange, Steve Lacy and John Kirby

As she readies the new material, Summer Walker keeps winning. “Karma,” a 2018 release that went viral last year thanks to a sped-up version and dance from TikTok influencer @whereisreese, is No. 2 on urban radio. The millions of streams it’s generated pushed “Karma” to platinum status, and members of LVRN presented an official plaque to Summer at the Strength of a Woman festival this weekend. The “Karma” success sparked a full revamp of her 2018 masterpiece Last Day of Summer as an entire sped-up album, Last Day of Summer (Sped Up). The project is the first sped-up album from a major recording artist and is a result of the singer listening to her devoted fanbase, who found pleasure in revisiting the classic album in a reimagined way.

Likewise, Summer has strengthened her connection with her loyal fans through high-profile and electric festival performances in recent weeks. This past weekend, the multi-platinum hitmaker rocked the stage in her native Atlanta at Mary J Blige’s Strength of a Woman festival, alongside R&B superstars including Ms. Lauryn Hill, Muni Long and Lucky Daye. Before that, she joined the all-star lineup at Lovers and Friends in Las Vegas, the Pharrell-led Something in the Water and the legendary Dreamville Festival in North Carolina. Thanks to these appearances, Summer brought her music and artistry to her ever-increasing fanbase and cemented her reign as one of the most in-demand live acts in the industry today.

Summer Walker surprises with her 'Last Day Of Summer (Sped Up)' album release

R&B singer Summer Walker has more than just a new baby on the way. She’s coming through clutch with even more new tunes and delivers in a major way with her new Last Day Of Summer (Sped Up) album four years later.

R&B singer Summer Walker has more than just a new baby on the way. She’s coming through clutch with even more new tunes and delivers in a major way with her new Last Day Of Summer (Sped Up) album four years later.

Summer Walker’s new album is here

While it all started back in 2018, this revamped version has a new sound and overall appeal courtesy of the pacing. The project is all about Walker but there’s the must-hear ‘Girls Need Love’ collaboration with Drake toward the end of the album.

Today, Summer Walker revamps her 2018 opus Last Day Of Summer project and releases Last Day Of Summer (Sped Up). The newer version comes after the TikTok success of "Karma," which saw spikes in streams after fans sped up the older rendition at the start of 2022. TikTok influencer @whereisreese created the viral dance and helped propel the song into new success. The original song, which garnered 250-300k weekly global streams at the beginning of the year, reached a whopping 2 million after LVRN/Interscope Records re-released the sped-up song. "Karma" peaked at 4.1 million global weekly streams and reached gold status in August.

Other Summer songs which have found similar success after being sped up on TikTok and YouTube include "Shame," "Deep," and her Billboard smash hit "Girls Need Love (Remix)" featuring Drake. The latter began catching traction when Kehlani expressed her joy in the sped-up version, dubbing it her "new favorite sound." Last Day of Summer is officially the first sped-up album to be released and is a result of the singer listening to her devoted fanbase, who found pleasure in revisiting her classic but in a newer way.

Last August, Summer released her Amazon Music Live EP Summer Series. The five-track offering includes live performances of fan-favorite Summer records, including "Over It," "Playing Games," "Session 32," "Throw It Away," and "Unloyal."

Summer has enjoyed a string of stellar performances over the last few months, beginning with her sold-out concert, A Hot Summer Night, last June. She continued her fiery onslaught at London's Wireless Festival, where her rousing effort amazed the crowd and left her stunned by their courteous reception. She continued her scorching summer by taking her talents to New York's Hulu Theatre at the prestigious Madison Square Garden before performing at Detroit's Fox Theatre. In recent months, Walker also landed prominent feature appearances alongside music heavyweights Kendrick Lamar ("Purple Hearts") and The Weeknd ("Best Friend (Remix)."

Summer Walker and NO1-NOAH's 'Bonjour' is pure bliss

Isn’t summertime one of the best seasons to receive new music? The anthems hit a little bit different around the hottest season of the year - just take a look and listen to what NO1-NOAH and Summer Walker’s ‘Bonjour’ is all about.

Isn’t summertime one of the best seasons to receive new music? The anthems hit a little bit different around the hottest season of the year - just take a look and listen to what NO1-NOAH and Summer Walker’s ‘Bonjour’ is all about.

Summer Walker and NO1-NOAH’s ‘Bonjour’ is an anthem

Fresh from the You Should Come Over EP, NOH hits the green light on dropping the official visual treatment to his new banger. It’s all grown and sexy vibes with ample fashion statements being put on full display.

Singer-songwriter NO1-NOAH (Ghetto Earth Records/Interscope Records) steamrolls his way back into R&B contention with the video for his sweltering collaboration "Bonjour" with Summer Walker. The pair float on the flirtatious flex and blend NO1-NOAH's enticing sensuality and self-assurance with Walker's trademark honeyed vocals that fueled her to billions of career streams and multiple Billboard records in the last year. The video directed by Arman Mitchell and maliaSHUTup finds the melodic twosome enjoying a dinner party amongst friends after NOAH enjoys some quality time with the apple of his eye. "Bonjour" resides on NOAH's seven-song collection You Should Come Over.

The You Should Come Over EP really does hit different

It’s way bigger than ‘Bonjour’ for NOAH. His newest studio effort comes packed with anthems and he’s kept busy in the public spotlight including pulling through for the BET Awards.

Along with "Bonjour," NOAH has a fistful of highlights on his latest EP. First, he has "Bounce," a braggadocious vibe set on an appropriately bouncy melodic beat, and "Thank God," which has NO1-NOAH diving into the hip-hop lane, a sign of his genre versatility that will only develop with future projects. During this past BET Awards Weekend, NO1-NOAH hosted a mixer leading up to Summer Walker’s hotly anticipated A Hot Summer Night In LA at the Crypto.com Arena. There, the rising singer joined Summer onstage to perform their collaboration “Bonjour.”

After displaying beams of promise on Walker's sizzling anthems, NO1-NOAH inked a deal with her label Ghetto Earth Records in December 2020. Her first artist, NO1-NOAH, looks to rattle the cages of R&B with his sticky hooks and mastery of contemporary R&B's melodic stylings. Despite a young career, the newcomer has already skyrocketed to more than 130 million streams in the U.S. alone. The budding star also sharpened his live performance skills on the road with "The Summer Walker Series" concerts, which recently played dates in Houston, Chicago, and Dallas.

The accolades keep stacking up

It’s not just a few co-signs. NO1-NOAH has remained on the steady grind over the past 24 months and continued to receive major accolades from various publications.

The promising songwriter was named one of Billboard's 15 Hip-Hop & R&B Artists to Watch in 2020. Touted for his "ethereal vocals and intrepid lyricism," NO1-NOAH first caused shockwaves in the R&B world when he appeared on Summer Walker's EP Life on Earth on the standout tracks "SWV" and "White Tee." He also recently joined Summer during her headlining set at The Roots Picnic earlier this month. With publications such as Rolling Stone and XXL already praising NO1-NOAH for his extraordinary talents, You Should Come Over heralds the coming of the newest star in the R&B universe.

R&B superstar Summer Walker is keeping all the attention on her buzz at the start of 2022. The popular crooner has announced plans to bring her talent to Atlanta’s Coca Cola Roxy for a major live performance.

Summer Walker’s live show is going down next month

According to Walker’s team, diehard fans can head out to Georgia to see her grace the stage February 18. It’ll be the perfect delayed or even post-Valentine’s Day date with bae.

After a blistering debut on the Billboard 200 last November, where she landed her first No. 1 album, Still Over It, Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records), looks to give fans the live experience they've yearned for from her acclaimed sophomore project. In hopes of supplying her devotees with R&B richness and decadence, Summer will be performing at Atlanta's Coca-Cola Roxy on February 18.

Fresh off her historic run in 2021, where R&B's reigning queen broke her record for the most streams ever for a female R&B artist with a whopping 201.1 million streams in its debut week and was the biggest release from an R&B album all year, Summer looks to return to the stage after showcasing her dynamic stage prowess at the tail-end of 2021. Last November, at the 2021 BET Soul Train Awards, she and Ari Lennox wooed the crowd with a melodious performance of her album standout "Unloyal." Then, last week, at Usher's Las Vegas Residency she paired up with the R&B icon for a sweet-sounding rendition of their platinum collaboration "Come Thru."

Last year, Walker continued her evolution as a media darling, gracing covers for notable publications including SpinNME, and Sniffers. As for Still Over It, the project was the sixth-largest album debut of 2021 by a female-identifying artist of any genre and the eleventh-biggest start by any album of the year.

Summer Walker’s protégé NO-1 NOAH drops ‘Thank God’

Instead of just dropping an audio gem, NO-1 goes the animé route with a super fire artwork and creative visualizer.

Singer/Songwriter NO-1 NOAH (Ghetto Earth Records/Interscope Records) isn't ready to close the doors shut on his 2021. Today, the R&B polymath bounces back with his melodic banger, "Thank God." Director Patricio Mosquera delivers an anime thriller for NOAH's visualizer, where an all-out melee occurs. Though NOAH escapes unscathed from the battle, all doesn't end well for the rising star. As for the song itself, it finds a confident NOAH stiff-arming detractors with his bruising wordplay and buttery delivery.

Summer Walker’s ‘Still Over It’ did the Apple Music unthinkable

Outside of what NOAH’s doing, Walker’s new Still Over It album is worth bragging about for any Summer fan right now. She has the No. 1 Global Top 100 song courtesy of her must-hear “Bitter” anthem.

Upon the release of her hotly anticipated sophomore album, Still Over It, Summer Walker's (LVRN/Interscope Records), dominance over the music industry reigns supreme, as she broke several records in just a matter of hours. The 20-song collection boasts features from artists including Cardi B, SZA, Ari Lennox, and Lil Durk, and rocketed to No. 1 on Apple Music's All-Genre Chart courtesy of Summer's unapologetic candor and raw honesty, while her song “Bitter,” featuring Cardi B, ousted Adele's "Easy on Me" track on Apple Music’s Top Songs Chart. Following her scorching success, Summer Walker performed standout track “Unloyal” last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Since dropping a few days ago, the LP has helped Walker secure a batch of additional achievements.

  • Biggest album debut by a female-identifying artist ever on Apple Music.

  • Biggest R&B album debut ever on Apple Music.

  • Still Over It is currently No. 1 on Apple Music All-Genre Chart and all songs are charting between No. 1- No. 22 of the All-Genre Top Songs Chart.

  • Summer Walker’s “Bitter” (Lyric Video) is the No. 1 Trending Song on YouTube.

  • Globally, Still Over It is No. 1 in 40 markets on Apple Music and No. 1 in five markets on iTunes.

  • "Still Over It" received 38 total NMF placements from 34 Territories - 4 more placements than “Ex For a Reason.”

  • "No Love" surpassed "Ex For A Reason's" first full day on Spotify (760k) in just 10 hours. "No Love" is gearing up to be her biggest Spotify debut of all-time.

  • Summer currently has 100k unique listeners on Spotify (the most she ever had) and currently more than Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Post Malone and Bruno Mars.

  • Has earned excellent reviews from numerous publications including 5/5 on NME, 9/10 from Clash and 8/10 from Line of Best Fit.

Summer Walker keeps her word with ‘Still Over It’

After mounted anticipation, Walker hit the green light on dropping her studio effort to the masses in time for everyone’s autumn goals. Summer’s new LP is packed with 20 anthems and heavy production.

Still Over It, the sophomore album by multi-platinum singer-songwriter, Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records), has finally arrived. The 20-song project is a chronological progression of stories, as evidenced by their titles: beginning with “Bitter” (narrated by rap superstar, Cardi B) and culminating with “Ciara’s Prayer” (narrated by R&B icon, Ciara). The impressive track list also boasts appearances by JT (City Girls), SZA, Lil Durk, Pharrell Williams and Omarion. Summer’s unique proclivity toward delivering raw, gritty lyrics in a softer, melodic manner has helped to propel her celebrity and is captured perfectly on the album’s lead single, “Ex For A Reason,” alongside JT. The single has already amassed over 11 MM US streams while reaching #6 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart; her 14th top 10 appearance. Fans can procure either the physical or digital edition of Still Over It, with each version sporting its own individual cover.
