Loe Shimmy: There's no slowing down greatness and the 'Leave In' music video proves it

Who just drops singles in 2023? Turns out rap artists like Loe Shimmy know it’s more than just beneficial to come through with a full-fledged ‘Leave In’ music video to go with the fire tune.

The song goes hard but having the visual flex too? A must-see, of course. Peep the details and keep scrolling to see Loe glow up.

Pompano Beach, FL artist Loe Shimmy has just shared his new video single “Leave In”. Loe Shimmy is a fundamental member of the sprawling Florida Hip-Hop scene, who has quickly stood out amongst his contemporaries through his raspy voice & croaky delivery that complement his introverted bars. Fresh off of his breakthrough year with a Drake co-sign, energetic collaborations with the likes of Kodak Black & Luh Tyler, and his biggest song to date in “Fallin" (6M+ Streams), Loe Shimmy has been continuing his momentum into 2023 with a performance at Rolling Loud, a collaboration with DJ Scheme & Danny Towers in “Chunky Monkey”, as well as an impressive string of singles that includes “Can’t Blame Em”, “Ain’t Enough” and “Wok & Minute Maid”.

His new single “Leave In” serves as the latest addition, finding Loe Shimmy tapping into his vulnerable side as he works through the state of his mental health and relationships – “I’m off perkies while I’m leaning / Can't fill up my cup, I’m codeine dreaming / Tired of fighting with these demons, I’m just tryna go fill up arenas“. As he effectively continues his hot streak with each release, stretching his guttural cadence and expanding his knack for reflective storytelling, Loe Shimmy is continuously solidifying himself as an essential artist coming out of Florida’s saturated scene.

Fresh off of his breakthrough year in 2022 that saw him release his project
Z end, the viral yet reflective single “Fallin” & “Bounty” (feat. Kodak Black), Loe Shimmy has been carefully selective with releases this year. Standout collaborations with contemporaries like Kodak Black, Luh Tyler, Wizz Havinn & C Stunna, as well as his string of solo singles, have helped to fully capture Loe Shimmy's uniquely guttural voice and imaginative wordplay. In the process, Loe Shimmy has been continuously championed by his mixture of candid wordplay and a selective, eclectic beat selection – emerging as not only a Florida mainstay, but also a key player in pushing the boundaries of the ever-changing Hip-Hop scene forward.

This has resulted in Loe Shimmy garnering critical acclaim from the likes of The FADER, Pitchfork & more. "Leave In" is just the latest release in a balanced slew of singles that includes the deeply introspective “Maybach Curtains”, as well as “Safe Route” and “Can’t Blame Em”, which showcase his artistic strength of flexing while simultaneously reflecting on what he's gone through in order to get here. With each subsequent release, Loe Shimmy is further flexing his vivid lyricism and experimenting with his straining cadences.
