In celebration of Caribana, Nike is re-releasing its highly anticipated, limited-edition Nike Air Force 1 “West Indies 2”, available exclusively atFoot Locker Canada stores and other local boutiques.
Nike released its original Air Force 1 “West Indies” in tandem with New York City’s West Indian Day Parade Carnival in 2002. Now 20+ years later, this re-release is launching in correlation with Caribana celebrations in Canada throughout July and August. The new release features an updated sock liner to include a more comprehensive list of West Indian countries, along with a 20th anniversary emblem on the tongue. The design features a near replication of its original highly celebrated design with a signature white AF1 base and accents of red, green and gold.
Beyond this limited-edition release, Foot Locker Canada is celebrating Caribana with various pop-up events and activations including a Crocs x Caribana in-store event and a Nike community dance class.
Available in unisex sizing from 3.5-13, the limited-edition Air Force 1 West Indies 2 retails for 140 CAD and is available for purchase at Foot Locker Canada stores below. Following the in-store launch, the sneaker launches online next week at Footlocker.ca.

While details are still coming together, it looks like Ben, Amazon Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures have green lit the flick to hit theaters this April.
AIR directed by Ben Affleck, from Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports, Mandalay Pictures, and the first project from Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity, will receive a wide global theatrical release on April 5, 2023 in advance of its premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Prime Video.
In a first of its kind arrangement for the studio, Amazon Studios will distribute the film globally with Warner Bros. Pictures handling international as part of its distribution pact with Amazon’s MGM.
“Ben, Matt, and this all-star cast have delivered a fantastic film that will move, inspire, and entertain audiences around the globe,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon and MGM Studios. “With Ben’s incredible direction, the film delivers a nostalgic look back at a culture-defining moment that absolutely lends itself to a global theatrical event."

New research has revealed the most popular sportswear brands in the US, with Nike coming out on top.
The study, carried out by online shopping experts Rakuten, analyzed Google searches across the past 12 months for different sportswear brands to see which brand is the most popular in the country.
It found that Nike takes the top spot on the list, receiving, on average, 6,650,000 searches a month. The company has primarily produced and distributed apparel, accessories, and sports equipment worldwide since its founding in 1964. Utah is the state that was found to be most interested in the brand based on Google Trends results.
Lululemon comes in second place, receiving, on average, 5,730,000 searches in the US every month. It comes in as a much younger company compared to other entries on the list, with searches growing exponentially following the pandemic. Minnesota is the state that was discovered to hold the most interest in the brand.
Adidas takes third place on the list, with an average monthly search volume of 2,550,000. The company is currently one of the oldest sportswear companies around. New York is the state that was found to be most interested in the brand.
Coming in fourth place is New Balance, with the brand receiving 1,640,000 searches a month on average in the US. It’s the oldest company in the top ten, founded in 1906. The state that was found to be most interested in the brand is Maryland.
Rounding out the top five is Under Armour, which comes in with 1,150,000 searches every month on average. Once again, Maryland came in as the state with the strongest interest in the brand.
Think California and Georgia are rocking sportswear the hardest? Think again.
According to Google Trends, the state most interested in Sportswear is New York, which Mississippi and Kansas then follow. New Mexico, Montana, and Vermont had the least interest.
This study was conducted by Rakuten, which offers coupons and cash-back services at more than 3,500 stores across the US.
