Metro Boomin: The greatest producer of this generation slayed at Coachella Week 1

If there was any doubting how amazing Metro Boomin is as an artist, just look at how he came through for Coachella Week 1. The arts and music festival had all types of star power but possibly none greater than the game-changing hitmaker delivering instant classics from his recently released Heroes & Villains studio album.

Metro Boomin completely owned Coachella Week 1

From John Legend and Future to 21 Savage, The Weeknd and the iconic Diddy pulling through for Metro Boomin, it’s clear he’s more than your top notch premium performer.

Friday night, Diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Metro Boomin, dressed head to toe in Chrome Hearts, took the Coachella stage for the first time with an elite ensemble of ‘heroes and villains’ shutting down night one of the festival. Performing a selection of songs from the superhero producer’s latest album, John Legend, Future, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, The Weeknd, and Diddy descended on the Sahara Tent in full force to perform their Metro-produced best and latest hits with 21 Savage co-signing him as “the greatest producer of our generation” on stage. The Weeknd also treated fans to a surprise unreleased song while the legendary Mike Dean commanded the keys and saxophone. The set’s creative direction was created by La Mar Taylor with production design by Human Person.

Since being unleashed last fall, HEROES & VILLAINS captured #1 on the Billboard 200, Top Rap Albums Chart, and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, registering his third straight top bow on each of the respective charts. Moreover, it eclipsed 185K in total first-week consumption, marking his highest seven-day tally yet,  and has generated over 2.5 billion streams and counting.

With no intention of slowing down, in the brand and humanitarian spaces, the close of 2022 marked year two of the “Single Moms are Superheroes” campaign with his Boominati Foundation in partnership with the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, and Metro is making new music for the forthcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animated film out this June. Most recently, he was in a commercial for his partnership with Budweiser for the Super Bowl and MLB to celebrate opening day
